Umm guys if you really want to "enable transparency"... First enable the regular Aero Interface then get vista glazz and patch you system files then get a theme that will give you the transparency... I suggest Windows 7 Theme... But whatever.

And sCooByXXL If you want to teach someone a tutorial it would help if you didn't have a HOME PREMIUM computer....

Actually you can enable the NON TRANSPARENT Aero theme. Yes you need to download a theme to get the transparent theme. For the non transparent you can just change like 2 registry components and you get the non glassy theme... I have my facts straight =P And fyi i have done it on my Home basic computer =P

@MrSty27 Well I feel sorry to say this but all my computers i had a decent graphics card and 512 MB of RAM, so I don't know how to enable aero with your machine... I believe... I'm not sure but you have to do a registry edit... Just like in Windows Vista Basic. Navigate on Regedit to HKEY CURRENT USER/SOFTWARE/MICROSOFT/WINDOW­S/DWM

Then change Entry Composition to 1 and Composition Policy to 2. Good Luck.... PM and tell me if it worked =)

@MrSty27 Yep this hack does work for Vista Basic =) and if you don't have a graphics card... make sure you have atleat 1 GB of RAM. If you have that this hack should work =) And sharing RAM to increase the onboard video RAM should work. I would do this last if the other way doesn't work...

I know what I'm doing, it's my shit (work and study in informatics area).

And linux can work prety good, but needs lots of tweaking, which is bad for the casual user. I mean, had to fuck up half a day with scripting and disassembling my system, to see what it's made of (chips), cause it did false recognise some of the shit. Maybe falty firmware, but still get's on the nerves.

Last not least, I had same problems installing XP, even worse, cause there are no dX10 for XP, means no VCard driver ;)

For the record, there is no such thing as "Linux OS", Linux is just the kernel, other shit ist GNU for the most.

And yes, it's nice, I use it, but it's far from complete yet. I mean, I use powernowd (AMD) to scale my Core2Duo, and to get sound out, had to say, that my asus is a lenovo, bluetooth support is still fucked up for audio (at least Moto HT820), Vista has to be just turned in pairing mode.. and more and more... But it has small mem footprint, runs perfectly(fanless, quietly) on 800MHz.
