It's really a shame that economic conditions have made some unscrupulous people resort to killing these animals and that in these areas, government protection is virtually non-existent.
Animals were put here to be our fur babies as my baby girl would say. For those who have never had a great loving bond with an animal you're missing out. For those who have you know what I'm talking out. I went into diabetic shock (Type I) while horseback riding when I was ten. I awoke hours later in the hospital. My dog, Trigger, had went & found someone while my horse, Shotgun, never left my side. One of his colts now belongs to my daughter. Thank God for blessing us with fur babies : )
@charlesvan13 Yeah I know that their behaviour can be a vicious like it is in the wild but thats like saying a lion is mean or a snake is mean. And humans do worse than chimps.
@Flammuth2 The fuck? Yea I don't know about all of that, in the "we" context because I honestly don't know of the U.S. killing Gorillas for entertainment/decorational purposes. I'm pretty sure that's a more serious epidemic in Congo terrain instead of U.S. and such. Bushmeat, I've heard of because that's used for as a general means for animals that have to nutritional value that are hunted and eaten. But the ashtrays and whatnot are things I'm not familiar with at all.
@tombro911 The Digit Fund created by Dr. Dian Fossey in 1978 for the purpose of financing anti-poaching patrols and preventing further poaching of endangered mountain gorillas studied at her Karisoke Research Center in the Virunga Volcanoes of Rwanda. The nonprofit fund was named in memory of Fossey's favourite gorilla, Digit, who was decapitated by poachers for the offer of US$20 by a Hutu merchant who specialized in selling gorilla heads as trophies and gorilla hands as ashtrays to tourists.
i love monkeys. they are 98% human i guess the other 2% is selfishness, hate, and abuse of power. monkeys dont have this :) this is why apes only attack when they are protecting something. never for no reason, i want a monkey

@ChrisYoutubization well chimps, like us humans raid other colonys and kill for territory soooo... But I get what your are saying, they should be protected.
Animals are the most amazing things to ever grace this planet. Its sad that majority of the people over time and even today take them for granted and hurt them because of their greed. Animals are innocent beings, even if they are known to be dangerous. The fact that animals such Kwibi and Christian the lion are able to remember those that gave them love and respect even after years of separation is an amazing thing, it shows that man and animal can live together in harmony. Sadly it wont happen.
I just wonder how this gorilla felt.....not having seen the narrator in five years, and having his old friend out there on the other side of the river, most likely spending the midnight hours boning his wife. Talk about torture. If I ran into an old buddy of mine whom I had not seen in five years, and he spent the midnight hours on the other side of the river with a female, he would lose my Facebook Friend status for sure. This video is not nearly as touching as it seems. It is sadist.
way to ruin a beautiful video everyone. You are never gonna change the views of creationists or evolutionists, so I find it's not even worth trying. Just enjoy the video.
I visited Frankfurt Zoo when I was a boy long ago, direct beside the Gorilla cage there was another little cage, on top there was written: "Here you can see the most dangerous animal of the Planet".
I went to the cage and looked inside but all I could see was myself in a mirror which was located inside.
Who cares about what may or may not have happened millions of years ago. We are here now and that's what matters, so let's all watch the video, go buy ourselves a Gorilla, and enjoy life.
I'm not sure what theories of evolution, the big bang, etc, has to do with it. It's just a beautiful, touching connection between two creatures that anyone can see whether there is a God or not. Why not just enjoy it instead of all the analysis?! Peace. :0)
Why is this so important to Evolutionists? I'll tell you: it shows that creatures like gorillas are capable of the same emotions and behaviors as humans. These emotions and behaviors have long been attributed to a "soul" by religious people, and they all claim that only humans have souls. But if these creatures don't have a soul and are able to do these things, then they clearly don't NEED a soul, so why do we? We don't. This is just proof that a soul is a made up fairy-tale.
@TristanCaley you are wrong, emotions have never been attributed only to one's soul by knowledgable Christians. In fact, the Bible warns believers not to be deceived by emotions, or confuse them with the soul. Emotions can come from boosts in adrenaline, hormonal changes, and other many other physical and mental phenomenon. Emotions can however, lead to actions which affect the state of ones spirit. The only thing you have proven is you do not know what your talking about.
ROFL @Tpiglet, who apparently believes that his ancestry includes apes. If we evolved from apes to become human, what's next? Anyone ever thought to answer that question? Or does evolution magically just end now that we're human beings?
See, I get mocked for believing that God created the world, but nobody ever stops to think about how ridiculous the Big Bang Theory is or how ridiculous the notion is that we were once apes.
@MrNickJacob We are still apes. Evolution never stops. It happens everyday. And before you call me an athiest, I think you should know i'm a christian. :)
You are not a Christian if you believe that we are apes or evolution exists in the Bible. God -CREATED MAN-. God did not create ape to turn into man. If you believe that God might have created evolution, then you are by no means Christian, but a nonexistent and self-proclaimed denomination of a religion that (I assume) you based off the Bible. If this isn't true, you are even further away from what anyone could remotely consider Christianity.

@VideosForAFriend Well EXCUSE ME ALMIGHTY PERFECT CHRISTIAN. You seem to know everything there is to know about God huh? No mysteries left for you. Let me tell you something, I Am a christian, but I'm Not an idiot!
@VideosForAFriend Being a Christian has nothing to do whether you believe in evolution or not. Evolution does not discount a higher being, despite what some scientists and Christians claim. I don't recall reading Jesus mentioning the subject at all.
@VideosForAFriend Being narrow minded, ignorant, judgmental and superstitious is not being a Christian. Or at least it's not for people who follow the teaching of Jesus and not dogmatic church doctrine. You need to decide which one you are.
26 Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals,[a] and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” 27 So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.
Christianity follows creationism because God created man. Man did not evolve. Man was made in God's image. /convo
@VideosForAFriend No wonder man is referred to as 'sheep' in the Bible. But here's some logic that you might understand: If God created everything then that makes him the father of everything. And if we share the same father then that makes us 'brothers and sisters' in the eyes of God. From your narrow point of view we might be "favored children" but that doesn't discount the connection we have to all other life on this planet.
@Backfromthedeadguy evolution is clearly at odds with christianity. it profs that we were not the pinnacle of creation.. so it certainly debunks theism.. perhaps not deism as strong.. even though the evidence for any type of god is terrible to non existent
People arguing on behalf of evolutionism are kind of fucking it up. Evolution is not a fact, it is a theory, in the same way that gravity is a theory. Also, humans did not evolve from apes, humans and apes evolved from the same being long ago, the famous "missing link." I really thought that by now, pretty much everybody would have come to their senses and realize that evolution has been scientifically proven on so many different scales. But apparently some people still cling on to old ways.
@lisabuttface ... I know, that's what I said "gravity is a theory" in my comment. I believe in evolution just as much as I believe in gravity, I just don't like people saying "evolution is a fact" when it is really just a scientific theory.
Who says animals aren't enlightened beings. They are far closer to the Divine than most of us! They are here to teach us mostly about unconditional love...if we listen and watch.
How anyone can look at this and not see just how close we are...is beyond me. They see it in us, too- clearly, or they wouldn't behave towards us as they do.
It is a very interesting story, but it's not quite as big as a surprise as you might think at first.
Gorillas are (of course) highly intelligent, but they are also generally peaceful, with the big silverbacks using mainly intimidation to keep away threats or rivals.
Contrast that with Chimpanzees, where genuine war, cannibalism, and infanticide are a way of life.
If this had been a big male Chimp, this guy could very easily have been literally torn to shreds.
Why do we even differentiate between animals and humans? Both are one and the same. This video is incredibly powerful.

Who says animals aren't enlightened beings. They are far closer to the Divine than most of us! They are here to teach us mostly about unconditional love...if we listen and watch.

Some people are just way too thick headed. They are dumber than the animals that they themselves think are dumb... They live in a fantasy world. lol

How anyone can look at this and not see just how close we are...is beyond me. They see it in us, too- clearly, or they wouldn't behave towards us as they do.

@1ster1 Because she was saying that it was very risky to go back and be close to the gorilla as he might not remember and just fuck this guy up xD
