They never morped into extinct dinosaurs. They only morphed into the costumes. However in series 3 it was right as they said "Pink ranger power" so on. The dinosaurs only came to make the big robot.

One thing besides the oblivious stereotyping that bothers me as an adult is the fact that they always seemed to get their ass kicked and then morph into a giant robot while fighting a giant monster in the middle of a city causing millions of dollars in damage when they could easily just morph and instantly finish the threat off. Then when its all said and done, its as if it was perfectly ok to knock giant creatures into large office buildings that are possibly filled with people. TERRORISTS!
