I've seen practically every Stephen King adaptation and read so many short stories and novels, but I am unfamiliar with this one... So, I am damn pumped right now.
@cyoachim10 I agree with you, but the characters calling it schizophrenia aren't psychologists, just your average people. They're making the same armchair psychologist mistake lots of people would.
the old guy Digger was not the guy that played Jud Crandle in Pet Semetary. I thought the guy that played Crandle played Herman Munster in the 60's (or 50's) TV show & also played Michael Douglas' attorney boss in the film Fatal Attraction (1987).
@cartonhead I jumped out of my skin when the newspaper flew into him. I should have known not to watch this alone. And somehow I don't think the miniature schnauzer gonna be much help . . .: )
Yeah he is, its really the first time I've seen a cop/sherrif actual express serious anger and hate towards the killer, while they're leaning over their victum.
maybe to show the director can be diffrent, so at least to show the film wasnt exactly the same as stephen king had written it, (every director has to leave a mark)and this is also proberly becasue they had to cut down the length of the film, and this was one way on doing this.. many adaptations of books in to films are dramaticlly cut down, if it was for word for word then it oculd be to long and rather boring, they want to stay captivating their audience
Actually, that's a far north accent...if you've read enough of King's books, you'd know that he's lived most of his life in Maine and he makes references to the way the the locals talk, quite often...
can some1 explain 2 me the magazine part? like what was he saying? that george stark was once a part of him, but now he's dead? cuz that's kinda odd. like i understand if they would do an artical on george stark dying, but why did thad and his wife have to stand over the grave? plz explain. NO rude comments plz n ty.
George Stark was just a name Thad invented to write the violent books about Alexis Machine. The whole burying of Stark is just a publicity stunt, he is "burying" Stark by telling the world he IS Stark, and quit writing the books about Machine. Watch the rest of the movie, or read the book, you'll get it.
no, not nice. you are misunderstanding. and in answer to your question i didnt pay much attention to the first part of the movie because i was busy counting my rice but i understood it that he was publicly declaring he was the author of george stark books (something he had kept secret) and that he no longer wrote those books any more. that guy threatened to expose the fact that he knew he was the real author but thad thought it would be better to publcly announce it himself. i could be wrong
Really? I thought that George-Thad's other personality George-was actually writing the books himself because why would he go through all the trouble of finding a fake picture and a fake name for himself. And earlier in the movie, didn't his wife say that he was really different when he wrote his George Stalk books? Why would he want to keep his books a secret? Like, why would it matter if people knew Thad wrote the George Stalk books?
The groundskeeper at the cemetery is Royal Dano, who played President Lincoln more than once in his acting career - as the voice of Lincoln in the Hall of Presidents attraction at Walt Disney World and an episode of "The Rifleman" as a man who believes himself to be the recently-assassinated president.
