@josephfoster30 Not chipping or flaking overall still real nice. I do however feel that it is a 1/10 of a shade lighter than it was 1.5 years ago. But for the money still very impressed.

don't sand the paint off, just rough the surface up with a green scratch pad til there are no shiny spots on the car. Yes its cheaper and way better if you do some of the prep.

is it cheaper if you sand off all the paint yourself? i qanted to get the signature paint job but i keep hearing bad feedback from maaco and i hear a couple good ones i wanna know before i throw my money down the drain

Key to a good lasting and looking paint is all in the prep. If you want it to last fix the dings, dents, sand off the old dead paint and it will most allways look great. Go in there with dents not fixed dead paint not removed and so on and not pay them to do it, well..........you get what you get then.

@jahman20002000 The paint still looks good as the day it came out of the booth. Very happy with my expierience with Macco.

Do they also put a clear coat on for that price?

@paper000000 No clear for that price, but it was a single stage enamel paint, it wasn't meant to have a clear coat applied. Almost every vehicle made up to the 1980's was a single stage paint.

@blazzing4321 It looks as good as the day it came out of the booth. Still drive it every day and everyware 12,000 miles later and not even rock chips in the front of the car. I did degrease and wetsand the car before taking it to Maaco which is why the paint adhesion is so good compared to people that don't scuff it ahead of time. But yes I am still very pleased with the Price and the Quality. = )

@blazzing4321 Your welcome and just remember make at least take a green scotch brite pad to the whole surface so there is no shiny spots left on the car and the paint will stick great.. Also they will try to up sale you and say that they can't waranty the paint otherwise........tell them that your ok with however it turns out...no warranty needed, you want the 299.00 paint job! It will turn out great, post a vid when you get it done.

@americanGTA $300 plus I paid an extra $50 for them to prep and prime the rear bumper because it was in bad shape. So $350 out the door.

I can't tell if that is metallic or not, they don't recomend metallic colors in their cheap paint but, I'd like to get my car repainted in a metalic color, just curious... .

@tnmtemerity This is a metallic paint job and it still looks fantastic. I did put a good coat of wax on it after a month or so and have done it one time since then. I just love the stock color of this car so thats why I kept it. Metallic is harder to spray which is probably why they don't recommend it where ever you are. Salem Maaco was more than happy to paint it metallic. Not all Maacos are created equally.

Maaco did a very good job on your car. I have old Toyota with heavy oxidation, I didn't want to spend a lot of money on paint job for an older car, but 299 is cheap. I'm going to take my car in next week ,when I have time off, and see what they can do for my car.

I have an old job that I would love to get painted quick, but a little leery..I am fine with a single stage paint job..

@HillBillyF100 I did do most of the prep and bodywork myself. What I would advise anyone to do is at least get some scotch brite green pads and dish soap and scuff the entire vehicle. The soap will also get a lot of the grease and grime in the small crevices. Make sure there are no shiny spots left on the vehicle when you are done. Then when you go to Maaco and be specific. "I want the ad price of $299 and I am willing to accept there may be some imperfections" No warranty is ok.

I've heard that the ambassador paint job sucks so I'm curious. How's the paint so far?
