awesome recollection. uh- doesn't anyone have this video in 480p or something though? I've still got a vhs of it kicking around somewhere if that helps...
Lava was always my favourite :) so happy to see this vid again after all these years! I get sick of explaining to people I don't mean Silversun Pickups whenever I mention this band!
What a tune, thanks for posting it James. I particularly love the almost-impossible-to-spot way that you sneaked 'shit' into this and 'fucking' into Lava without any broadcasters noticing. in 1998(ish) I posted on the prehistoric Silver Sun website that you were the best songwriter since Neil Diamond and you called me a gent and a scholar. ahh those really were the days...
God sure does bring back good memories...I say you guys in 98 and you pretended we were friends of yours so I could get my "sun" EP signed...thanks for that...have some fab photos of that night. I bet you remember that gig James cos you bashed your guitar on your head and cut it open (oooppps) thanks for this...i love you guys xxx
im 28 and i get the feelin most comments are posted by people of similar age.. A real trip back to my youth, good times, will always make a shitty day better..
I rescued my iTunes library from my old Mac and have been rediscovering the joys of Silver Sun in the last few days - all great stuff from my university years! I much prefer the "bedroom demo" version of this song though - completely different tune to this and everything.
me too,,but only managed to see them twice in Glasgow ! SUPERB tunes !i also remember bumping into Mr Broad at the Cheap Trick gig in London Astoria years ago!
im selling all my Silver Sun cd singles( of which there are MANY;-0) on ebay by the way,not cos i want to!
cos im moving abroad and have to get rid of all my stuff!!
I loved SilverSun, saw them 4 times in Glasgow in the mid90s. I loved 'dumb' the best. Lord Melbury, you're b-sides were as good as the a-sides, I lived 'reasons to live', '15', and so much more. Thanks for the videos. Any new albums on the block?
