  • I have been working on my 73 triumph spitfire 1500 - luckily minimal wiring issues. All I had to do was flush all fluids and replace. She starts up beautifully. No rust and I just finished wet sanding and priming her for her new red paint!

  • Yes this is a 1500 model.

  • is that a 1500? i didn't think they made those in '73, thought they were still on the Mark IV

  • how reliable is a car like this? because i really want to get one and some people say they are reliable and some people say they are'nt i cant get a straight answer anywhere. I cant actually drive yet but i think 70's cars have so much more style anyway...

  • @james198694

I bought a 79 it is reliable mechanically but they tend to have wiring issues.

  • @james198694 i think im the same as you im 18 now and currently drive a mazda mx5 mk1 which is lovly, but i have always dreamed of a car like this with tons on charactor and great looks e.c.t i have wanted a spitty for years. it would be nice to restore one

  • @james198694 they are reliable they just have minor stuff wrong with them all the time dont buy if your not willing to lift the hood and tinker a little bit

  • I own 71. You have original stromberg carb right? The hardtop not factory paint and the interior is not authentic.

  • @sidplicity it just has the downdraft weber which is a better carb. the black top adds a nice contrast.
