I grew up on these old songs. My momma used to sing this song while she rolled my hair in prep for church the next day - this, I'll fly away, all the old southern ones. When we got older, she and daddy would have us do it in parts. What wonderful memories it brings back!

when i first heard this song i thought it so corny. Tennessee Ernie Ford with the Jordanaires did all the words. by the end of it it was still incredibly corny, but hit everything worth living for in a nutshell.
