Goes to show that you didn't have to be from the country to like country music.
Leo G. Carroll was usually typecast as a conservative businessman and probably best remembered for his role as the agency chief on The Man From U.N.C.L.E.
This is from the Movie ..'From Nashville with Music' released in '69...it starred Carl Smith, Leo G Carroll, Don Gibson, Marty Robbins, Merle Haggard, Tammy Wynette, Buck Owens, George Jones, and the Jordanaires.
This is from the 1960s - notice Leon Rhodes on guitar there behind Carl (with the red electric guitar), but don't recognize any of the other players. I do know that Johnny Seibert was his original steel player, but the player int he video is not him. Maybe others can identify the rest. GOOD STUFF!
I LOVE ANYTHING Opry from the Ryman!!! If you any other Opry-Ryman vids PLEASE let me know!

This was when it meant something to be on the The Grand Ole Opry.
Now, days all those American Idol singers are on and they don't sing country.

@opryman65,
If the steel player is not Johnny Seibert, he must have sent his double. lol

@209Memphis It's pretty classy. The good folks at Bear Family Records are using this video on Facebook to promote their Carl Smith 5 CD set.
