Awesome live performance of my favorite Pearl Jam song! Which Dave is in this video, Dave Krusen or Dave Abruzzese? I think one of the problems with Matt Cameron playing drums on this song in recent years is that he doesn't use a China cymbal. Take it from me! I'm a drummer!I should know!

One of the best live bands of all time. I don't think the crowd was ready for this mind blowing performance. They are either in shock or they just woke up. Also notice at the very end of the song you can hear the first chord to Black just like in the studio album Ten, but they dont go into it.

Some additional context on this show: This was obviously one of the first shows PJ had ever played - and the first time the mainstream Seattle audience got to hear/see them. It was a free show outside at Seattle Center underneath the Space Needle. I had just gotten the Alive Promo Cassette in the mail from the fan club and brought my buddies along. We were big Mother Love Bone fans, so were eager to see what PJ was all about. Afterwards, we said, "Gosh, these guys are pretty good." Ha!

please explain to me how a song like "World Wide Suicide" is more modern audience friendly than a song like "Alive". They haven't changed their sound to fit modern music at all. No doubt their sound has changed, but their new stuff would fit easily with the 90's audience, as well their old stuff has stood the test of time and still sounds fresh today.
