He uses his lovely soft voice to elegantly unite a vulgar word like "fuck" with a gentle and delicate melody. The way he so effortlessly unify's these complete opposites is extremely beautiful to me.

I first listened to Elliot Smith back in January or February of this year, not long after my girlfriend of a year broke up with me. His music was just so relaxing and really connected with pain I was feeling. Now I feel so much better, as I have started college and begun a new phase of my life. Everything feels fresh and positive. Now I continue to listen to his music, and it still connects with the positive and joyful feelings I'm having. It's truly amazing.

I think it means more than that. I see it as his comment about how absurd and confusing life can be, and his reluctance about taking part in it, and just going along with this spectacle that makes no sense. It might also be about fame, and being in the spotlight...like most Elliott Smith songs, there are many possible ways of interpreting it. Its one of the things that makes his music so great
