  • Strange thing is. I was addicted to playing mech game on the pc. And then sitting down and watching this CGI robot show. It took me a few episodes befor i relised..i was played the game the show was based on. So thats why things seemed so similer.

I always enjoyed the Zero G fights in the game.

  • hey uh why can't you guys just split these episodes of heavy gearTM into parts like part 1,23 etc? would be appreciated

  • personally, wingzerotbs, i would rather enjoy being up-close and personal withe the melee because it is far more HONORABLE! but to be totally honest with you, it is better safe than sorry

  • anime, racing, similar to heavy gear? i believe it was called NASCAR RACING

  • @omniretrofan777 yeah i remember that but can't find it anywhere :(

  • the cgi isnt terrific but it was a while ago, still one of my favourites when i was younger

  • PAP CGI WORK SORRY

  • Sgt. Bruno.

  • omg this and metabots were my fave shows :)

  • GEAR HEADS!!!

  • YES! I've been looking for these for ages!

I think these might have been made by the same people as Beast Wars, also a great show.

  • hay all seing u like the show so mutch why not play the game type in dream pod 9 and play the miniture table top game =]

  • wonder what would had happened if this got into the War with Earth......

  • Reminds me of another series from Toonami, except that show was about racing and it's anime.

  • Holy shit as I kid I didnt even notice how bad the CG was

  • @Slixors I know right?!

I always remembered it as being way better!

  • Is it just me, or were all these old cg shows so dark it hurts your eyes?

  • are you kidding?! who could forget this show.

  • Heavy Gear and Roughnecks: STC were my 2 top shows i watched as a kid.

  • ALRIGHT

    METAL GEEEEEEEEEEAAAAUUUUUUUUURRR

  • Respond to this video... bad link please fix

  • I remember this show, just barely.

  • Damn, I should've found this earlier - too long without Heavy Gear.

  • hehe, i thought this show was badass when i was young, its still pretty awesome :D:D

  • God Dam Commercials

  • @JistKyle without the commercials, you wouldn't have full length

  • This was awesome

  • i keep tryin to watch this and it keeps comin up with an error rrrr its drivin me crazy

  • That Greko guy sounds like Obiwan from that Clone Wars show.

  • Man I haven't seen this show since I was so young! I love Reboot too, so it is funny hearing the same sound effects lol

  • Fucking commercials.

  • EVIL COMMERCIALS!!!

  • I was only 10 years old I spoke no english when I first saw this show

  • i miss this kind of shows i remember this when i was a kid

  • i miss this show its awesome

  • wasnt there a show like this in toonami

  • Reboot?

  • IGPX probably

  • I saw one episode of this series a long time ago while channel surfing but never saw it again. Very interesting series. Its made by Mainframe Entertainment, which is now Rainmaker Entertainment, the guys that made Reboot. And I know they make quality stuff. I think I'll watch the rest of this. Looks as good as everything else they've done. However the human models are at that creepy point between stylized and real. Makes the humans look weird.

  • How'd such a great game get turned into... THIS!?

  • nevermind i cant wach this gundam's better this is crap shit

  • this is cool where u going clown

    u be puppy chow

  • Reminds me of Reboot.

  • not all that great... to childish looking for me... add some R rated stuff this could be good...

  • Zaku's can fly and have heathawks thats like using the argument goku could kill the joker with a finger .

  • amuro kira and shinn could wipe out all of these retards with just zakus

  • This is freakin stupid. I need to close this browser window before it taints my memories of the PC games being kick ass.

  • lol gundam kick its ass hardcore

  • I'm used to the first game... and being a Northern hero. And the Southern forces being the enemy, to be crushed under foot. This, which seems to focus on a team representing the Allied Southern Territories (AST) and not the Confederated Northern City-States (CNCS) is rather... hard to identify with for someone like me. I end up looking at the Vanguard as a disgrace to the noble North with their attitudes, and end up getting disgusted by the close-up look at the Dragons...

  • wouldn't the audience be exposed to stray bullets and missiles? lmao, this was fun to watch as a kid :P

  • I remember getting up at 6:30 am every Sat. morning to see this!!! Loved this Show!!!

  • holy shit

i had no idea there was a heavy gear show

    thats awesome

Awesome universe. Great story. Games were so-so, but I loved the story they crafted with it.

  • this was awesome back in the day

  • This is my first time watching this show. It looks awesome, and a nice alternative to Gundam.

  • this show is the shiznts

  • Dude I remember watching this show when I was like 8, hahaha it was pure awesomeness

  • Wow it is great to see so many fans remember this show! 0ldSparta, as a fan - what would you have liked to have seen in this series to make it better?

  • Them move through the war of the Alliance, and then see them continue it on into either something related to the game storyline, or the first story book, who's name I cannot remember

  • @Crackle

This probably would have been better had it been hand-drawn animations instead of CGI. Certain CGI cartoons don't sit well with most.

  • So sad. An awesome game, and the creators of the game didn't even get a word in on how this story went. Originally, it was supposed to get into the War of the Alliance against the CEF, but the folks who made the TV show decided, oh, that's too confusing for kids. So they screwed up the show by making their own decisions on how the story would run. This could have been so much better. :(

  • Terra Nova??? must be the futuristic earth...Dude its been awhile since I last saw the series :P

  • Terra Nova is the name of a human colony millenia into the future. It was explained in the PC games which came before this, as well as on the site for the table-top wargame which spawned it all, created by Dream Pod 9.

  • I think they killed the show before they began it... a show about TOURNAMENST? WTF? What about the awesome war, North vs South or CEF? This show dumbed it all down to the level of Yo-ghey-Oh and Poke-a-man.

  • its been a long time since iv seen it on tv

  • i remember watchin this wen i waz real yung

  • is it just me or does dirx sound like the dad from wizards of waverly place? ...the dialogue is pretty weak on this show haha.

  • yea there is a game an it was awesome

  • its not playing

  • It's not a childhood if you're not hooked on robots

  • @Crackle I'm 27 and still am.

  • o, dude i wached this wen i was like 5! i loved this show, it got me hooked on robots :P

  • God i loved this show

  • this would make a pretty sweet game. I dunno if there is already a game...just saying

  • they mad this game a ;long time ago lol

  • i wish i would found this show as a kid i would of loved it even more than i am now, a whole lot more

  • grfic is awsome

  • knightmares would take these guys to the cleaners

  • o and while your at it

i need a suit dry cleaned

and a weapon polish (need to kill in style)

  • @Pendragondnd code geass ftw

  • isnt dirx guy from the sergeant guy startrooper Roughnecks show

  • i remember waking up in the morning as a kid, just to watch two shows. heavy gear was one of them.

  • what was the other show?...

  • sebastian sounds a lot like peter cullen

  • Wow I don't even remember this show I remember the game though wth is with this tournament thing? game never had anything to do with this.

  • They couldnt do a show about the game because....executive meddling?

  • whats the game called i want to play it

  • Its called.....Heavy Gear. Heavy Gear 1 and 2 are OLD games.

  • Comment removed

  • PC, Windows 98 I believe LOL.

  • I think I've played it on a newer OS, but yeah, it was from back then.

  • i loved this show from when i was like five haha

  • I second

    blackhawkwe

  • Dirx has the same voice actor as Coop in Megas XLR.

  • i remember this show when i was little.... it was and is amazing

  • Sheeeit I remember this from back in the day.

  • i appreciate that these mechs arnt controlled by joysticks like in other shows, it doesn't make any seance to use them for a robot

  • gotta love the ol' 3D animation

  • is it just me or dose one of the dragons look like bruto on roughnecks

  • Why did they even bring missles if they couldn't use them in this fight?

  • for fun of course!!

    ::)

  • BRINGS BACK MEMORIES!

    and the game :]

  • Reminds me of AT Votoms! But in3D LOL!

  • As entertaining as it is to see gears going hand to hand with melee weapons, it's still BS. I played Heavy Gear and I had a better chance of getting my leg blown off than getting in close. Also there weren't any melee weapons. Besides, why would someone risk close combat when a couple choice missles can take out your opponent a kilometer away?

  • Yeah, I beat the game like 50 times over. I think I put more time into it than any other game I've played since. Memorizing each weapon and gear type/class. (I was young, had a lotta time on my hands) This series doesnt do the game justice. I was excited when i saw this, but now I'm really sad they totally ignored the mood and spirit of the game. This is childish, the game was serious and strategic. More like rainbow six than this hello kitty island adventure crap.

  • i had no problem giting in close. the MAC has a lota power up close

  • Heavy Gear did have Melee weapons axe sword and nife but no way to really use the since your dead befor you can get close

  • this is a cool show.

  • I remember this show, it was awesome, glad to have been able to find it

  • This show is awesome

  • this was the 1st robot show i ever watched and because of this show i love any anime, manga, cartoon that has robots in it.

armored core games make me think of this show.

  • god this IS old i was like 4 when this got taken off the air and for being one of the first 3d-ish cartoons of that time its pretty good

  • Nope not first 3d shows. Back in '94 they had Reboot. In '95 they had Beast Wars Transformers (my favorite), in '99 Beast Machines (another favorite) among others. ;) Go watch those two shows. Real stories, real war. No silly tournament stuff. ;)

  • I fell asleep at 2 minutes

  • I remember this stuff. And how much I didn't like the main character's wimpy voice...

  • i see zaku anybody else se a zaku

  • i do its the first robot

  • Cool show but the cool game got me into armor core.

  • cool game? They made this a game? Or it just got you into armor core?

  • yep the game came out back in 1995 and a 2nd one in 1998.

  • Nice I bet it is awesome, I'm gonna research so I can get it...

  • dude there is also a table top strategy game and the second has no one playing online so kinda not worth it i enjoyed it for awhile but i could not find anyone to play

  • Eehhhh partially wrong. The first one was out in in 1997. The second came out around 1999. The first game was more of a heavily modified Mechwarrior 2 game engine... buggy but had it's fun. The second one was much better as in less bugs, more features (stealth stuff) way nicer graphics, different controls and weapons style, you got melee and could actually use it too.

  • 5/5

  • Half this show was introducing the characters.

  • I've always wanted to watch this series!!!

  • ah i remember an old add for this in the extras menu for Dark Regin. Was there ever a game out for this?

  • The games are older than the series. And older than the computer games is the table-top wargame in the same vein as Battletech, which spawned MechWarrior. Both MechWarrior and Heavy Gear were made into computer games by Activision back in the day- some of the best mech combat simulators ever made for the PC market.

  • This crappy show is based off the game, the original table top version. They made 2 pc games, Heavy Gear in 1997 I think, and Heavy Gear 2 in 1999. Very fun.

  • I've seen far worse in my time. Reminds me of saturday mornings when I was a kid. Good times, good times.

  • this was mad old i watched this when i was like 10 >.>

  • that announcer needs to shut up... Also their rifles sound like toy guns.

  • Anyone else notice how the guns in here and in Starship Troopers sound like pewpewpew guns? Pretty lame considering the caliber of guns these Gears are supposed to be using...that's what you get with kids shows nowadays. Hah. I miss Beast Wars/Machines.

  • Man this a trip down memory lane

This uses the same engine that both max steel and Starship Troopers used and the same voices.

  • Actually, it's from a completely different CGI studio. Max Steel and Starship Troopers were by Foundation Imaging- this was made by Mainframe, who did ReBoot, War Planets, Beast Wars, and I think Action Man? (Which was very similar to Foundation Imaging's Max Steel, complete with Xtreme Sports athlete main character.

  • I Just To Watch This In Mexico..

  • Haha....this is animated, just that it's CGI instead of cell animated cartoon. ;)

  • the game was fun

  • holy shit i loved this show as a kid.

  • this show is great, whoever doesn't like the show don't comment and don't watch

  • Looks like an interesting show. Too bad it's encoded in such crap quality.

  • this is nothing like the game this is crap

  • Yeah right this was my favorite show as a kid (I don't know any thing about the video game.) This show is old if you can't tell.

  • well the game was old it came with my dad's computer it was so hard we never passed it I passed level 1 but it was hard lol but this real looks cheesy in the game it was a war and the robots had really no color it was brown I think before it was a limited game that came with the computer now you can buy from amazon lol check it out (under heavy gear)

  • not that good but I wouldnt go as far as calling it cheesy, when I saw your comment I expected MUCH worse

do agree with you on the game though, almost no mech games have those bright colors and all creators seem to love making their mech games almost impossible to advance on(died several times in many weird and unfair ways)

this makes it seem like just another tourny style show for kids

  • Exactly... KIDs tourney show, like the 100 others out there so they followed the formula and killed what could have been a good show with real story based on the North vs South. And BTW the original pc game and Heavy Gear 2 were not that hard, you just need to get used to the controls which were not much more different than any mech game. It's not like Armored Core (which was fun) where you mash weapons on and go, you had to make sure you equipped the right armor/equipment etc. Very fun.

  • Seems a bit off... I will agree the Heavy Gear games are about building the right Gear for the job, but so is Armored Core. The combat's the big difference- Heavy Gear is more of a combat simulator like the Mechwarrior games that Activision made before them, while Armored Core was a bit more on the arcadey side in terms of controls, due to its console origins.

But, yes, the game isn't that hard, until you get a decent ways into it. The difficulty curve's rather well-tuned.

  • True, I guess I missed pointing out that Heavy Gear is a sim type game while Armored core is more so like an FPS or arcade style experience. Different tastes/audiences.
