keep using the down taunt. eventually he'll use the codec. sometimes it takes 2 tries, sometimes 7. in other words, it's random. however, it can only be used on this stage

nope. works with the cube controller too. you just have to do a down taunt really fast. you dont have to push it repeatedly just flick the button really fast only for a split second. I'm pretty sure this works with the classic controller too.
