war is a solution to a problem that shouldnt exist - if we all as human beings loed each other there would be no war. As for "war creating peace" that's a ridiculous justification for killing people in my opinion. Surely anyone that really cared about peace would make sure that such a conflict never got that far. An eye for an eye, and we will all end up blind. LOVE ONE ANOTHER!

It just contradicts itself too much. Sure some wars did need need to be fought, or were worth fighting (i.e. WWII) but a lot of the wars we see are pointless wastes of life and resources

Your right, war needs to stop. Nevermind the fact that World War II dragged us out of the Great Depression, or that such technological advancements as jet engines, nuclear power, radar, the internet, and global telecommunications were created as a result of war. I could live without all those things because I would have the self satisfaction of knowing that the world was a better place...somehow.

Without war, you wouldnt be able to enjoy most of the luxuries you take for granted today. And Im not talking about the men and women who protect your freedom. Im talking about things like radar, jet engines, the internet, nuclear power...basically the modern age. All those technological achievements were created during war.

You may want to check your history a little... The above mentioned technological achievements were not created during war. With or with out war these technologies would have been developed, war is not an excuse for advancement of technology or financial gain. War is a solution of the past; it is time for us to evolve!

I think it is who wo needs the history lesson. Jet engines were created as a direct result of the V2 missile program under the Nazis, nuclear power was a side product of the atomic bomb, the internet was first created as a method for linking together the defense computers across the country during the Cold War, and radar, while initially developed during the early 20th century, was perfected by the British in 1941 as a means of detecting German planes before they reached London.

Trust me, I understand the heart of people who server our country. I know the intention of serving for the idea that you want to help protect the freedoms we have. I can tell you are young forming the statements you have made. The key point is before war there is a time of peace. Once War is in motion the result is always the same form the aspect of death and destruction.

Just because the past may contain a few marginal examples of victory after conflict dose not mean that war is the best method of solving ideological differences. There should come a time when humans realize that they are better than war and learn to solve differences through more intelligent means.

If you knew a little about history and current events you would know that this war from both sides has been going on for more than 11 months. You would also know that Israel is the one that is holding Palestinians prisoner in Gaza. The State of Israel controls all borders of Gaza land, air and sea. Not only are they attempting to prevent weapons from being brought in, the border has been closed off completely rarely allowing for people to pass through.

They have not been getting food or medical supplies and can not export or import and good or services. They are being choked to death. The State of Israel is the one who struck first after the 6 month cease fire, buy entering Gaza to bomb suspected underground tunnels. I dont condone the violence that Hamas perpetrates, but what is Israel is doing to the Palestinian people is a tragedy and a crime of genocide.
