  • What's the difference between your ancient one and the modern one.

  • @TheRebelEye The modern Khopesh is shorter and more curved.

  • If this was the type of sword they were using - they better have stayed in the desert. Chain-mail would make this thing useless.

  • @ganixaba not if you stabbed wich it was usful for

  • @ArcherOut so is it battle ready?

  • @MrThembones Yes. Very much so.

  • it looks like a modernized khopesh, but still cool.

  • nice man i want one so bad!i just dont want to order one.....know any good online stores?

  • @Kelvarra I have some in stock at Kult of Athea's website. Just go to my manufacturers page there (Click the Manufacturers link, and select Scorpion Swords & Knives). Thanks,

  • very good design only thing is you seem to need to sharpen it a bit more

  • Brilliant! Although there are only two major problems with the Khopesh during the time of the Egyptians.

    1) At the time of thr New Kingdom Pharoahs, the weapon was mainly made of bronze, which can be brittle and the sword would often lose its edge. Very few were made of iron.

    2) Because of its shape, you can't easily put it in a scabbard so soldiers would either carry the weapon in hand while marching, or the sword would be tucked in thier belt. Either way it would be exposed to the elements.

  • @MortuusImmortale My misunderstanding. I thought you were originally referring to blades in general, and not specifically those of one culture in a specific era.

  • @MortuusImmortale Ahh, History with a capital H. Still, the definition of knives and daggers by their length alone seems... historically inaccurate, given the examples I've listed.

  • @MortuusImmortale Stuff like goloks, parangs, and khukuris can easily exceed 12 inches and stll be considered knives, for example. Likewise, there are daggers that fall under the one foot size. Got any documentation to support these classifications by length?

  • @MortuusImmortale doesnt matter anyway. pvc when bent like that has weakpoints and one of my friends hit my helmet and it snapped in two lol

  • what song is this?

  • Nice history of the weapon posted there. I like to know the history of weapons when I see them in action.

  • is a nice sword and is a great multitasking weapon

  • wow the only time i saw one like tht but it had more details in the blade and some titanum quarts on the handle

  • Isn't that a little short to be considered a sword? Looks like a dagger to me.

  • No. I've never heard of a Khopesh dagger, but I could be wrong. Thoughs measurments are based off of an actual ancient khopesh, 22 1/2 ", 16" blade isn't real short, but is pretty long for a dagger, don't you think?

  • then the one i makin for use in darkon is a tad long at about 31 inches

  • Ever heard of a gladus or roman short sword. The Khopesh has a great ability to be used as both a slashing, stabbing, and shield removal weapon (with the hooked end).

  • @ColonelMarksman its not a sword nor a daggger.. its technically a battle blade

  • @ColonelMarksman egyptian daggers were well, dagger shaped, i.e a double edged knife

  • good sword page you got there mate..: :)

  • this is one of mi fabret sword

  • One of my favorite swords too. I use them as a primary weapon for a race in a fantasy I'm writing. Though... the ones they produced is smaller, more dagger-like.

  • You kinda wanna bury that in someones skull

  • o wow imagine those twice as big and having one in eachhand. ultimate warrior. REAL NICE you are really talented.

  • Thanks bro! Chris

  • how did you paint the handle?

  • The handle wasn't painted. I applied the Osage scales onto the tang, and then took my propane torch and blew flames onto it quickly, off and on, off and on, and so on, until I got the color I wanted. Then sanded it with an orbital sander with a 220 grit paper. Then put a satin finish was applied. Word of advise if you are going to do this, do it in very short increments. If you get the wood too hot it will warp. Chris

  • tnx my friend
