  • also like the early 90's cliche of the heavyset woman singing the backing vocals..

  • Wicked bassline...

  • still liked at the end of 2011!

  • Look at the Stinger hes ripped all that Tantric sex

  • 13(dislikes) People strapped to a chiar and the bomb is a tickin'

  • Oh god this is awesome! Raw adrenaline!

  • 13 People are strapped to a chair with the time bomb tickin'

  • ...

  • Sting loves strippers! Yeah baby! He took them all around New York City in his limo and used to mess around all the time even though he was married. My friend was a yoga instructor and knew him. I think they had one of those relationships that any real man dreams of having.

  • i like this one better than the police version even thought the police version has better music

  • His singing is definitely better than the original version.

The music? ... not quite as good.

  • This rocks

  • COMPLETLY FRIGGIN AWESOME

  • Yea, I like The Police's version more.

  • ROCKS!

  • Manfred Mann's Earth Band did a much better job with this song IMO

  • @Arnie1808 i wish i could find the album/ cd the whole thing rocked

  • Kick ass and fitting soundtrack for the movie. Great job from Sting. Dude is amazing

  • Wait a Minute that's Ann Nesby

  • Did Vesta Williams sing the hooks on that song?

  • Yeah, what's with the random black lady overdubbing everything Sting sings? And then she fuckin' pops out at 3:36!! WHAT THE FUCK IS A SINGING LADY DOING AT A DEMOLITION SITE?! GET HER THE FUCK OUT OF THERE. YOU CAN'T DANCE THERE, ARETHA FRANKLIN!

  • The police - demolition man

  • This is such an awesome song from Sting. YOU ROCK, MAN!!

  • @rdsxluvrynkyhatr

oh yes. wish I could hear it live someday but unfortunatelly I think this will never happen. It's one of the most unknown songs by him I think but I love it. Heard it when I was a little girl...Love all albums of Sting. We almost have every album original.

And this song is from "Sting - At the movies". My father has got the japanese version! =)

  • I think I'll buy the movie, just because of the song...

  • sting tries to be flea eh ?

Thanks Sting for the music and Snipes/Stallone/Bullock for the movie

  • This is so...

    badass.

  • is it just me or this sound like mortal kombat !!?!??!?!?

  • @mensager110 yeah the beginning does

  • In the movie talk about schwatzzenegger for president and some about an earthquake in 2010 o.o

  • Last night I saw this movie was on TV. I didn't watch the film, but I switched over in time for the credits just to hear this song. Total tune.

  • Dunno about you guys, but I prefer this cut over the studio version on Ghost In The Machine! There is a lot more to it! :) If you all like this, I recommend trying to find Sting and Ziggy Marley's duet of One world Is Enough.

  • Dunno about you guys, I prefer this cut of the studio version on Ghost In The Machine! There is a lot more to it! :)

  • i went four times to the cinema to see this movie when I was a child. I love it!

  • OH, THEY'RE GONNA HAVE TO GLUE YOU BACK TOGETHER... IN HELL!

  • fuck off guitar hero! sting is way to good for guitar hero, no one cooler than him!

  • I can't get over how sexy Sting is.

  • the movie is now a sci-fi classic now, and the song is a classic too

  • I love the implication that Sting having his shirt off makes this an "edgier" version.

  • @birdmantd

I saw him and I was like "Damn...Sting could kick my ass... :("

  • love the movie and i love the song

  • lol the demomans song from tf2 lol

  • Best version of this song around.

  • John Spartan: 'Send a maniac to catch a maniac.'

Man, that quote always comes to mind whenver I hear this. I love it!

  • Sting = TALENT

  • The live version's better.

  • Sounds just like Semi-Apocalyptic Gladiatoric Rock, damn good, watched the movie just last night and started raving to this on the credits, awesome stuff

  • i dont see why others think that jones`s version is so great! she does`nt sing as well as sting,so why do others think her version is so good?no offense nor harm meant,i just do not see what is so good about it

  • @waynec38 Since when was pop music about great singing?! Grace Jones is a great vocal stylist (who had a killer backing band on her Chris Blackwell/Alex Sadkin-produced albums) and I'll leave it at that.

  • @dillikins hmmm.good point.uhm,a question:do you believe that great vocals does not fit IN POP MUSIC,OR MUSIC IN GENERAL?just curious about what YOU THOUGHT.

  • @waynec38 Well, I was being flippant. Pop music often does contain great vocals, but great singing is not necessarily a prerequisite for the production of a great pop song. I think personality (and texture) often play an equally important role when it comes to vocals in a pop context. Grace Jones, for example, is by no means a great singer, but she has a very distinctive voice that transmits a lot of personality. Whether or not you enjoy her personality is another issue!

  • @dillikins i see.huh.i bet you just plain like her

  • back when action movies rocked. fuck transformers kiddiefest.

  • i love this

  • this version kills any other version of demolition man any were any time!

  • man, did he ruin this one.

  • That is a great version, but I don't like the reference to 2 Unlimited's "Twilight Zone" 0:42 which is repeated all over.

Sting is way underrated over the world!

  • @HanyMust maybe you should watch the Spoony One's of the 3DO Demolition Man game. He reference the Twilight Zone when talks about "The Infintiy Hole".

  • this is the shit!!!

    in a good way

  • Okay, I have been searching all over iTunes and this version of the song is NOWHERE!!!!!!!!!! Where do I look to find it?! Can anyone please help me?!

  • @Pentophobic101 one word amazon get the soundtrack

  • Every single line of this song perfectly describes The Joker from The Dark Knight. I dare ANYone to disagree with me.

  • i disagree

  • Allow me to describe The Joker: we shouldn't mess around with him, he's given my little brother nightmares, if you've seen the inside of his coat then you'll know that he's an arsenal of doom. During the party, he killed every conversation as he walked into the room. He's as dangerous (if not more) as a three-line whip, he's been banned in every inch of Gotham, he's a walking disaster, he's strapped people to a chair with the bomb ticking, and the mob bosses came to him like moths to the flame.

  • i disagree

  • Really. Enlighten me.

  • actually i agree. nevermind =)

  • ok, I could disagree with you. there is logic to this song. the Modus Operandi of the joker, in most incarnations is that of chaos. therefore, unstructured. songs have structure. rules. the joker (claims) to have none. but then again, i'm just messing with you.

  • this is the best version

  • this version doesn't even compare to the police version

  • @jfleminator

    totally.

  • jfleminater is sooooooooooooo right.

  • @jfleminator I disagree I think this version is much, much more refined and sounds better!!

  • this my shit

  • Simon Pheonixxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • van damme and steven seagal were going to play in this film

  • Haven't seen the movie but I'm sure this version matches with it: loud, fast, lots of muscles, cool lead characters ; )

Anyway, the best version of "Demolition Man" ever is the one Live from Gateshead, 1982!

  • oh yeah!

  • Sting is my god ! and this is his best song !

    5 stars !

  • i like the live version better

  • lol song

  • this movie was so awesome and the song kicks ass

  • Best Cool Demolition...Saludo from Colombia!

  • I looove the bassline on this one...

  • ah.this version`s better,to me

  • And btw - with that body, and that look in his eyes when he starts singing - he could easily be a Tekken-character :D i can hear it now..."K.O......STING WINS!"

  • Keep playing games

  • well, plus the name fits PERFECTLY and tekken is awesome even though i suck at it

  • No way man, this version kicks GHWT's ass any time!

  • did you see that movie, was it awesome?

  • @DesertRose85 WAIT!!!!!!

what do you mean "version"? -.-

*says so in your description* how the fuck many times has this movie been made?

  • @seanw23 I'm referring to the song, not the movie ;)

  • @HelligArashi Manfred Mann's Earth Band did a much beter version on their "Somewhere Afrika" Alnbum -1983

  • @minihockey101 -- Great version to be sure, but nothing beats the Police's version. Grace Jones', though? POS.

  • its on the greatest hits the two cd version man

  • Simon Phoenix: *skeptical glare*...thats who you remind me of...an evil Mr. Rogers. SOMEONE KILL HIM! HE's PISSIN ME OFF!

  • KAH-BEWM!

  • hmm the demoman from team fortress 2 lol

  • hahahaha xD!!

  • John Spartan: Bad aim, Blondie!

Simon Phoenix: Spartan? John Spartan? Aw shit, they let anybody into this century! What the hell you doing here?

  • Gotta say I like the new live version better

  • The movie wasn't that good but this songs actually rocks! Sting is one great performer.

  • what the movie was wicked man.,Typical Wesley snipes movie....old time classic.

  • Hooray for the Spoony Experiment!

  • Yes. He age is.

  • Sure thing. He age is. I agree with both Galvajon and Omega5959

  • Its all Industrial sounding...Awesome//

  • grrreat song

  • he's sooooo hot!!!

  • ThE COOLEST VIDEO I EVER SEEN!!!

  • Three cheers for Geddy!

  • He's a very good vocalist and a competent bassist, the opposite of Geddy who is a very good bassist and a competent vocalist.

  • I agree that sting is a good vocalist and a competent bassist, but I think that geddy's singing matches, if not surpasses, sting's bass playing

  • cool

  • this was made a few years before Orbital made the music for Mortal Kombat. This song was re-made in 1993 Mortal Kombat came out 1995 or 1996.

  • fucking....awesome! ~woot~ anybody knows where I can find this version of demolition man?

  • @JennaRock4You limewire

  • I love this song... ;)

  • Sting is probly the only guy that looks good w/o his shirt and playing the guitar (fuckin beast)

  • I had a cassette tape by Sting in 1993. It had a remix of this song (I THINK it was a SoulPower remix), but I'm not exactly sure which album it was. I was so certain that it was Fields of Gold: The Best of Sting 1984-1994 but I just cannot find it on any album. Does ANYONE remember this?! Please let me know! I will be eternally grateful. Cheers! :o) x

  • Ok, here's what happened...

The cassette-version of Fields of Gold includes two songs that weren't supposed to be in it! The two songs 'Moon Over Bourbon Street' and 'Why Should I Cry' that are mentioned on the back of the cassette are (mistakenly?) replaced by 'Nothing' Bout Me' and 'Demolition Man' . In the cd-version however there's no such problem...

Well..I always wondered if there was something wrong with the particular cassette I had bought or it was a general mistake...so now I know!!!!

  • I think I favor Grace Jones' version best.

  • Is this version of this song just on the films soundtrack or is it on another Sting or Police album?

  • Both.

  • This version was made for the movie Demolition Man with Sylvester Stallone and Wesley Snipes. There is another version on The Police album Ghost in the Machine from 1981.

  • i remeber watchin this film when i was 6

  • I think this version of the song is best.

  • this is cool!

  • i dont think the orginal version was that great it was defintly not one of the better police songs

  • Sylvester Stallone is God!!...

  • If stallone is god then Sting is Jesus, and BTW Snipes is THE DEVIL, and Demolition man was awesome I remember watching it when i was a kid i just loved aswell as Twister and im thinking of getting a haircut like Sting's his hair looks soooo coool

  • Certainly a "motorcycle" or "high-performance car" song.
