  • I think what is most amazing is the fact that an ancient instrument with only 2 strings can be just as powerful as any modern day instrument.

  • Coming from the Tengcompany video, I have to state here again: when it comes to command of Western thought and programming, why do you still kiss Europe's second league vulgar classics' ass? Has everybody forgotten how Asians excel at showing off and crosscultural communication (perhaps with more subtlety)? Is there so little knowledge and will to explore the European oevre? Hail to the equal temperament, hail to the big concert halls and hail to the microphones and digital delay! Sorry. Peace.

  • @popkocher what a load of crap. Everybody likes FOTB, it's a good crowd pleaser at the end of a recital especially for those who aren't used to "authentic" erhu Asian music. Equal temperament? You mean we should discard that? ...

  • @physphilmusic Did you watch the full concert? It was full of "crowd pleasers". Nothing against it as such, but you hear the SAME EVERYWHERE in Asia. It is just sad. And by fine programming I don't necessarily mean "authentic". I'm just longing for some concerts, that relate to our time and people of today, without offering blurry symbols of a fake command of Western techniques (as heard in SAME concert programming). Make someting unique out of the many options, without discarding innovations.
