this is a nice video i hope that you guys keep makin more of them. Im just coming to realize the great potential power for dollar value a lq4 block could offer with aluminum heads and carb and was wondering if the lq4 has the same motor mounts as the LS motors. This would really help me with my project. I don't want to say anything yet until im done and i'll definitely post a video for that. Thanks again for the video.
your all hatin on mustangs but what about the 03-04 cobra? more power and less weight. runs high 12s and low 13s stock. not 13.5s i've seen those 03-04 4.6 make over 900 rwhp and hold together. i would say thats pretty good. plus my bolt on and tuned gt would keep up with my friends camaro ss LS1, weighs 400 lbs less and costs 4000 dollers less..lol not to bad... and i am born and raised a chevy guy. just not born rich either
wait 6.0 ls1 ? the ls1 is a 350 its 5.7 isnt the ls2 6.0 y didint y use the ls6 its better than ls1 and uses same block besides the ls1 sucks it sounds like a 6 even the mustang 281 sounded like it had balls
the ls1 aint no 350 its a 346c.i. i believe. LS6's are not worth the money, best bet is to get a 5.3 throw ls6 heads and cam it and make real good power and for the price of a ls1
LS1 sounds like a 6? Did you lose your heariing or something. I don't remember ever hearing an LS1 that sounded remotely close to a V6. And 281's are a joke. that basically IS a 6. No cubes, no balls.
@sayer308 wrong the ls1 is a 346ci 5.7L aluminum the ls2 is a 364 6.0L aluminum . some more info the engine in this stang is the LQ4 364ci 6.0L which is the Iron block truck motor.
@csgtfaught way to comment on a year old comment, and a ls1's displacement can be changed with different cranks/rods/and what not therefore it doesnt have a set displacement. My 02, 4.8 is the same block as my friends 01, 5.3 which i believe is a cast iron ls1
@1985k20silverado yes you can change the displacement but that would be a stroker kit and or bore. but if someone has that they state it, they dont just say ls1. if you want to say a 364 ls1 add stroker in there or stroked. the way you stated the ci of the engine implied a non altered block, be more clear in your comment if you do not want to be mistaken.
@1985k20silverado I would if it started life as a 4.8. now if it was from the factory a 5.3 then no. but the factory 5.3 had different heads, pistons, and some other stuff from the factory than a 4.8. just depends if it is an aftermarket stroker kit or a factory engine.
i have a 94 cobra that i plan on doing an LS swap in this summer and i was wondering what all i need to do it any help will be much appreciated thank you.
@GiffinsPerformance would you guys hapen to have a msq file for the megasqurit II i have the same setup in my 63 nova lq4 zo6 cam T76 single just trying to get somthing close so i can fine tune it ..... mollyleonard@setel.com

ls1 is a 6.0 364ci and ls2 is a more updated version at least that is what it is for the GM trucks
sayer308 2 years ago
maybe you mistyped or soomething idk.
ls1 =346ci 5.7 aluminum
ls2=364ci aluminum
lq4/lq9= 364ci iron
truck mostly get the LQ motors but lately they get the Lxx motors (like the 6.2L L92, etc.)
canespride83 2 years ago
@canespride83 The LQ4 was an iron block, 325hp. The LQ9 was all aluminum, 345hp.

@csgtfaught Well if you have a 5.3 you dont say its a stroked 4.8 even though thats what it is.
