ive not played this game but IL2 is tons of fun, the p51 I dont like in IL2...it is to easy to stall and doesnt turn that well. my Fav plane to fly in IL2 is the Spitfire, its kinda slow but it turns so well your pilot cant take the turn and blacks out all the time haha

It's called world war II fighters by Jane's simulations. Old school, but great graphics and realistic flight models. Cockpit 3d views are awesome. It looks even better with an old Voodoo 2 video card (yes I am still running windows ME for this reason lol)

One of Hitlers mistakes , was that he canceled the Ural bomber project, Germany didnt have long range bombers , which was a terrible thing for the German air force while fighting the RAF , the Ju-88 would come back home without fuel , with spitfires behind them , plus the RAF had radar and airfields all over britain , thats a nice video man :) the game looks fun

the me-262 wasn't that good, but only because the plane wasn't ready to fight , the me-262 needed much more time but hitler didn't gave them the time , but look at the other german fighters lik ethe bf-109 or the fw 190-d9 ,they were some of the best fighters of the world in this time , the p-51 came at the end of the war , but was very good too

The me 262 was ready it's only weakness was it engines lagged abit, meaning they required time to spool up. In level fight no american plane could catch it. Most of the kills we had where scored on take or landing it's weakest time. Lucky for us Hilter used them mostly as fighter bombers a roll they were not suited for even luckier is Hilter didn't back the heinkel he-280 it flow in 1941.P-51b&c's were operational in 1943

not jus a slow spool up time,but the Jumo 002 engines were like the TF30s the early F-14s used. They suffered from massive compressor stalls and had to basically be babied,something a pilot in the heat of a dog fight wasnt thinking about doing. That and the Jumo 002 engines had a very short life span. If Hilter put more time into the Me-262, we'd be speak'in German now instead of English lol.

Nope, if you look at the german kill to death ratio, we were completely out gunned in WW2/

Our best fighter was I think a quintuple ace, they had fighters with over 200 kills

The reason for that is German pilots flew nonstop untill death or the end of the war. Americans flew a certain number of mission and they went home. The difference is a different view on war and exceptable human attrition. It's smart to protect your people, not throw them away like handi wipes.

your quite correct. read chuck Yeager's autobiography its a quick easy read but he talks alot about the p-51 and how amazing it was, he shot down a me-262 one of the only pilots to do so.

the only me 262 to be shot down during combat was ones which had a flame out, and couldn't achieve the 545mph level flight, or where bounced over there airfields upon landing, as what most bomber escorts did, waiting for them to land

And most of the top German aces racked up HUGE amounts of kills against the Soviets in early Eastern Front battles. This was when the Soviets had poor planes and poor tactics. The Germans had their way with them.

The Me 262 was a bomber interceptor and not a fighter as was the case with the P-51. The 262 was faster, but lost any speed advange in a turning dogfight. If the piston driven planes had an altitude advantage, they could catch the 262 even at top speed in a dive. I'll take the Mustang anyday.

This simulation is not realistic. In WW2, only 3 Me 262 were shot down (1 by Chuck Yeager when the Me 262 was ready to land), while in Feb 1945, 59 Me 262 shot down 700 planes in one day.

Mustang was a good plane but no comparison with Me 262. It's like comparing Hyundai with Porsche.
