  • if a guy were to decide that he was so uncomfortable with the way things are is it even possible to just head off into the forest to attempt self sustainable survival without being arrested by the dnr? what are the options for someone of this mindset?

  • @AtheisMisReality Take another look at my post. I said that moss is a good insulator, but not when you throw SNOW on top of it. Listen to HOW this guy says to combine bark, snow, & moss. He doesn't even mention using pine/spruce sap to seal the birch bark. That's one of the most important parts if you want it to be waterproof. Is he really giving good advise or pretending to teach something he doesn't fully understand?

  • @5Cazador you dont need pine sap to seal birch bark... ever heard of shingles?

  • This guy doesn't have a clue what he's talking about... with his bark, snow, and moss "advise." Moss traps air and is good for insulation, but it would take a TON to insulate an entire teepee, and snow would crush the moss, defeating it's ability to insulate. In order to smoke meat, it has to be cut thin. You wouldn't use a 1" diameter stick to skewer meat because then the meat would have to be too thick to smoke effectively. He's more of an artist than a person who gives practical advise.

  • This guy seens cool but why is he wearing such a heavy hat on such a warm day?

  • @SteelkiltX He had a heavy coat on.....didn't look like a warm day to me.

  • Great vid, thanks. im going off grid for a while.

  • I think he is smoking more than just meats...
