  • My ass in a teacup?

  • i used to play ripper till my dos took a microsoft to the box

  • Great work

  • "Ripper? I hardly knew her!"

  • @KITT171

you obviously got he swirly blue thing!

  • they should release this on the ipad

  • Ebay item # 280726484602

  • There is 1 copy actually on e-bay right now!!!

  • A '96 PC game featuring the real Christopher Walken, Burgess Meredith, D.P.Kelly and music from one of the best bands ever?

All I can say now is...

    HOLY FUCKING DAMN!!!

  • oh wow great game..i dream about it even now!!!!!!!!

  • I heard on Gamefaqs that they are re-making/re-releasing this for Xbox 360.

  • @mortlockroo I hope so

this game, actually many old point-and-click games need to be brought back

  • What is that song?

  • @012355469 "(Dont Fear) The Reaper" by Blue Oyster Cult

  • "Remember, Sully, when I promised I kill you last?"

    "That's right, Ripper, you did!"

    "I lied."

  • Unfortunately Christopher Walken was not a fan of the way the game turned out. He later expressed disappointment in with several of the design decisions made, including the version of "Don't Fear the Reaper" the developers wound up using. Rumor has it that he wanted something with more cowbell.

  • @11111110 I dont blame him. Must be difficult to act when suffering from a fever.

  • 1:57 FUCK MY ASS O_O

Is this voice... in game BLOOD?????

  • must get this game... wait, it's a DOS game?

    must learn... dosbox

  • Wanna know something funny? this game was rated for ages 11+ in the uk...and the swearing and gore was uncensored!!!

  • It needs more cowbell!!

  • love that song

  • This game would be good if it had more cowbell.

  • How the hell did I never play this game?! Considering how much I loved Black Dahlia I should've seen this before.

  • who is the hot chick walking and turns, name.....

  • amazing how many ppl we know that did this game

  • Walken: Don't you dare think you understand that killer...or me.

Honestly, I don't think anyone understands Walken. All I can say is he is THE MAN!

  • this looks like the worst piece of shit ever

  • @RAlmofti96 It was made in 1996...

  • it needs more cowbell!

  • I want this to be made into a movie!!

  • @theninjaweirdo

But how can anyone do justice to it without using the original actors?

  • @Locke217 I never said not to use different people, their all still alive... right? (I'm not sure)

  • @theninjaweirdo Burgess Meredith is dead but the rest are alive.

  • @theninjaweirdo

I know you never said it. But i figured it was a given... Who knows, MAYBE they could get ALL the same actors, but things like that are a huge pain to pull off from a film making standpoint. If they really made a movie of this I would assume they use different actors, or at least not ALL of the original cast.

  • memories... :(

  • What's the intro song?

  • @iPhreakVampire Don't Fear The Reaper - Blue Oyster Cult...

  • This game needs more Cowbell

  • I used to have this trailer on some demo cd ... and it made my buy the Blue Oyster Cult cd ... just to have the song...

  • fuck how much i loved that game :)

i want it back again :( anyone knows where too get it?!

  • @pedabass Ebay, or a used bookstore hey some sell computer games...I know weird)

  • @pedabass I've still got a copy of this game....it was on six cd s

  • @GreenEnergy1972

I found that the puzzles became ridiculously tricky as the game progressed. Never made it past the third cd.

  • @ImUsinIt The last puzzle believe t or not is matching up some cards in order of the song. Basically the song is the key to solving it lol

  • POVARATTI!!!!

  • uuuuuuuuh

the case of jack the ripper is being solved by a guy named jack

am i the only one noticing how big of a little irony this is

  • @metalsonicdoll Actually, his name was Jake. But I did notice when I was playing that if often sounded like they were saying 'Jack'.

  • @moonwatcher99 they didnt know who he was so they called him "jack the ripper"

and second jhow did that comment end up on here?

  • This game looks un-fucking believable! PSYCH! But Christopher Walken is Awsome! The king man! MOre Cowbell baby!

  • This trailer needs more cowbell.

  • This is a joke, right?!

  • @VeronicaIzzard Nope, this was afull motion video, videogame which were popular in the early 90s. This was Ripper which you go after Jack The ripper, it kicked major ass!

  • @VeronicaIzzard Nope it's a real PC game old as sh*t by today's standards. And a 6 CD Rom game takes forever to play. It's real and it's old and it's HILARIOUS

  • Who plays Quinlin?

  • @SuperSocha1

    Scott Cohen.

  • I never played the game, but had this trailer on a disk for years... love it. :D First time I ever heard Blue Oyster Cult.

  • ripper come out to paly!!

  • Who the hell plaid Falcon Eddie. That guy was awesome. Welllll I think you got-him.

  • David Patrick Kelly.

  • sooooooo random haha it's awesome

  • Nice. Cowbell sold separately.

  • it was good but the cowbell is a little bit off....

  • Good god, how'd they get so many good actors for this piece-of-sh*t?

  • @FuzzyDan It was actually a pretty good game, at least by FMV standards (which isn't saying a lot)... Hardly a POS like Privateer 2... Which also happened to have good actors.

  • I'm not sure Cristopher Walken was okay with the final cut of that song. Possibly because it didn't prescribe him more cowbell?

  • dis guy

    he's unfucking believable

  • Why is this only on DOS?

  • @suspekt29 Thats because this game was made when there was only DOS to play games with

  • @Menarndi What I meant was, they should have ported it, thats all :)

  • I gotta have more cowbell.

  • "Mr. Quinlan, if you have a knife with a man's fingerprints on it, you have the wrong murder weapon."

  • For its time, this was a great game which worked the first generation of Pentiums to their limits!

I had this game, it came on about 6 cd-roms...lolz

  • could always use more cowbell

  • if Bruce Dickinson want more cow bell we should give him more cow bell

  • This trailer was pretty un-fucking-belivable.

  • this is my favorite christopher walkin performance. he was un-fucking believable

  • I bought it when it came out!

It's still one of my favourite games!

I wish games where still like that today!

  • dosbox: use it.

  • This game...is un-fucking-believable.

  • you gotta have more cowbells. :D

  • Classic Walken rain or shine....

  • I played with this game a lot, it is f*cking difficult !!! :o But cooool!

  • I've never played the game, but based on the trailer this would make a cool movie.

  • Holy crap, Christopher Walken. Awesome.

  • Wow way to fucking brag about your Alienware, faggot.

  • Hahaha - Ossie Davis! The guy from The Warriors!! lOL

  • EW THERES A PENIS

    reported

  • You're not the only one don't owrry. I actually love this game as well and it took me a while to get a copy. I also came across the official walkthrough as well (God you NEED that thing for the game though.) It's a great classic and the story is pretty well told if you're willing to pay attention to it.

Interesting thing about the walkthrough is its set up like it's a novel. You get even more story out of the game this way.

  • The scenes you see in this video aren't nearly as cool when not backed by Blue Oyster Cult...

  • Who knew we'd be wearing such dated clothing in 2040

  • Those duds are classics.

  • this game is un-fuckin' believable!

  • I got a fever, and the only prescritpion is more cowbell!!

  • whats up with green dued

  • That's the Virtual Reality Internet I think.

  • hi again

  • hey guys..

just a little note i love this song. peace and love to you all homies. i love u with all my heart.

    peace out people.

    LOVE

  • Awesome. David Patrick Kelly. Always plays a great crazy-man.

  • MORE COWBELL!!!!

  • wonderful music

  • Damn, if only that Blue Oyster Cult song used a little more cowbell.

  • Bloody hell (pun intended) it's in the future and in the shit. I can't believe the cast though - for computer game thats impressive. Walken is good no matter what he's in.

  • Is Un-Fucking believable

  • This guy...

  • IS UN PHhucking Believable.

  • Oh my word I remember this. This was my first introduction to Blue Oyster Cult. Fond memories!

  • it's naif, i like naif games from the 80s and the 90s, i love it

  • Correct, I do not watch movies. Well, not nevers, I have probably watched about 6 in my life time and 3 of them were Beverly Hills Cop!

  • Just had a look on IMDB at Christopher Walkin, and I have to say I have not watched any movies he was in so thats why I never heard of him. In fact the only film their I have heard of is Pulp Fiction. Other than that they are all new to me!!

  • lol, how could you never have heard of Christopher Walken? Unless you don't watch many movies or anything.

  • I remember this trailer on an old PCW Cover disk (well gone by now,) nice to see it again!! LOL all star cast! Not heard of any of them!! Just love the song, and still do!

  • If You haven't heard bout none of the cast than U gotta live in the cave man...

  • Comment removed

  • OMG look what song they are playing, and Christopher Walken is in it no less! "I want more COWBELL!" LMAO!!

  • First thing I thought when I watched the More Cowbell sketch.

Not only that, the cowbell in the song is pretty clear now.

  • kapot dom

  • to play this game you need Dos or better Dos Box

  • Weiß jemand wo man das pc spiel noch bekommt?

  • Ebay? XD

  • I'm downloading this game right now , but i don't know if will run on Vista ! ??

  • you need dosbox and daemon tools

  • blue oyster cult är bra skit!

  • I LOVE this trailer. I remember watching it from a cover cd back when it was released. Whoever uploaded this rocks!!

Btw I have the game too, might have to reinstall it!!

  • an oldie but goldie.shame its a dos based game as imo the updated windows version would be alot better.this follows games like black dahlia another video footage based adventure game which i enjoyed.this game is well worth the play if you can get it working xD

chris walken in any game is worth the buy

  • I have both. This and Black Dahlia. Both made by Take2 I think.

    Well ahead of their time.

I didn't think anybody else had this much less loved them as much as I did.

So glad I found fans out on the net.

  • You guys can play this in dosbox no problem. Also, i got black dahlia working on my vista machine no sweat. Just make sure to run BD under one core rather than two.

  • I had this game before my brother took it, LOL, I loved it - Christopher Walken was awesome.

  • I've gatta have more cowbell!

  • wow... i lost this game long time ago...

thank for that... for the moment of feeling the past... my childhood.

    cheers!

  • Wow long time since i saw this trailer, i still have the game boxed and shelved. Was great for its time no matter what the critics said this game owned imo ;)

  • I remember a goose bumbs game like this.

  • Coolies. Chris Walken in a video game.

  • wolfman98765 is no longer. I am in the process or re-uploading the Ripper longplay and all my other longplays for those who were interested in em.

  • Holy Crap!!!

    a Good FMV game......

    well this and Phantasmagroea

  • I've still got this game, and would like to play it again. However Vista won't allow me to load it up :(

Tried it using DOSbox, but wouldn't install without a VESA driver. Anyone got any other ideas how I can relive this classic?

'You better watch that ice Quinlan!'

  • get yourself a old 95 or 98 pc well worth it for playing old games get them pretty cheap.

  • exactly saves you a looooot of nerves. get a pentium II - III, windows 95 or 98, sound blaster 16 compatibile card and basicly there is not a game that doesn't work.

  • Great Game, Great Trailer !!!!

  • This game was just, wow.

  • was that a old games or old movie?

  • an old FMV game which was once an old thing for games when CD's first came out but yeah this could of become a movie

  • it was the woman doctor :D i played it all the way (again :) )

  • I've posted a complete longplay of Ripper for anyone in here who wishes to see it.

  • Damn, Walken's deliveries are awesome:

"Because I know what drives him to it. So don't you dare think you understand that killer...or me."

  • I played this game, couldn't finish it though... but it's freakin awesome!! Some of the puzzles were insane difficult I thought... I've also seen Blue Oyster Cult live (found out about them cos of this game...) and they rocked... man what a game!!

  • Jack the Ripper rocks, even if he doesn't scares me

  • The wheels of justice may grind slowly but they're MOVIN', they're MOVIN'

  • Great game... but who was the ripper? magnota?

  • There were four possible killers: Magnota, the main character's girlfriend, the doctor, or the guy with the knives. IIRC, in the third act of the game the murderer was randomly selected and appropriate clues were dropped.

  • when i played it it was the main character's girlfriend who was the ripper

  • I finished this game. I loved Chris Walken's acting. The main characted was very dull - he was so lame! I love the music but I think this gave was soooo over the top!.. It starts awesome but then this cyber shit is starting! I'm sorry but they overdid it!!! I remember back in the day a lot of people didnt like this game... Phantasmagoria was much better

  • I agree with your assessement of Ripper. The hi-tech cyberpunk stuff was just disappointing when we were promised a real gritty dark murder-mystery thriller. Phantasmagoria was a better adventure game, but the acting was truly terrible, and it built to a truly dull climax.

  • ... By being so awesome!

  • Like Spoony said, this game almost caused a rift in the time-space contunuum :D

  • This was my favorite FMV back when they pumped out hordes of them. This game stood out.

  • please someone know what the name song?

  • Blue Öyster Cult - Don't Fear the Reaper

  • Best game ever. Even beat out Alice for me.

  • Sweet! :-)

  • COWBELL!!

  • Interesting. David Patrick Kelly of The Warriors and Twin Peaks is in this.

    Warrior Come out and play!!!!!!

  • best game ever made for any platform...ever

  • Interactive movies had loads of potential and still do, especially now that green screening costs have come down massively. I remember Walken appearing in several of these, and he costarred alongside the virtually unknown Clive Owen in Privateer 2. This game had loads of potential, and I remember how excited I was about it after seeing the trailer. Thanks loads for uploading!

  • Sadly, the design of Ripper failed to match up to the effort put into the filming. The premise of a murder mystery suggested a genuinely interesting detective game, but we just got a series of green-screened shorts interspersed with contrived, convoluted, isolated puzzles which rarely integrated coherently.

Walken and John-Rhys Davies were fantastic, easily able to compensate for the shoddy direction and editing. The lead actor was pretty impressive in places if I remember correctly.
