  • It is quite easy to ride on. You just have to push on the pedals. The balance is the same as on a classical bicycle.

  • How the do you get started on that thing?

  • "I GOT BALLS OF STEEL!" - I must be!

  • that was nasty

  • the horizontal bike reminds me on southpark !

  • must get tired of looking at his butt

  • Great vid

Does anybody know what the make and model of the recumbent and trailer near the end of this video are?

    thanks

  • that RED THING at the start of this film are his nuts, 100% raw from riding his bicycle called: The Nut Buster

  • This is how Harry rides his bike.

  • Yeah in a way the position is as natural as when swimming.

  • I'm building a front wheel drive recumbent at the moment. Would you consider a horizontal riding position and two wheel drive? A hand crank to the front wheel and rear end set up similar to yours.

  • That is the most stupidest thing I have ever seen

  • György Ligeti is hungarian?:D

    i'm hungarian to...:D

    nice bike;)

  • that is just great lol

  • moderna maquina de tortura,,,,,,,,,,,

  • Recumbents FTW...that 'superman' bike design is the dumbest idea I've seen in a long time :/

  • super vid merci :)

  • COOL :D What is the name of composer or song in background? Stive Reich? orrr?

  • The great György Ligeti. I'm glad you appreciated.

What about the drum on your youtube site? Is it ridable?

  • Yes :) check his movie "Puncture Kit 2010" THX for György Ligeti

  • try doing a wheeile lol

  • Vidéo avec quel caméra ?

  • Appareil photo. Lumix TZ3

  • Very very cool....not necessarily practical...but none the less - cool...and funny.

  • it depends on what you mean by practical. As it can be used on the roads, it could be qualified as a practical bike.

  • I don't see many recumbents on the roads so to see a group a laid back riders enjoying the freedom together was nice and the procumbent rider was fascinating to watch kind of like swimming on two wheels! : )

  • Thank you for your comment.

You are right, riding the prone recumbent is like swimming.

Please feel like joining us. The event will take place from July 18th to 26th this year (2009). The prone recumbent will be there. Having a recumbent is not requiered. Being open minded is the best thing to have.

  • wow are those special glasses to look up??? the square ones?

  • Yes, indeed. When you look down, you can see the road in front of you in the glasses. This gives a better position to the neck, more comfortable and more aerodynamic.

There is also a part of the glasses were you can look normally.

FYI, we will be in Allègre from July 18th to 26th, 2009.

  • SUPERMAN !!!

  • omg lolz!

  • imagine how can i breath properly on that bike

looks absolutely uncomfortable to ride one

there's a reason why sleeping on belly is not recommended

  • Sink the driver into the space between the wheels and move the crank behind the wheels. At least it will lower the CG and provide a little more stability. The driver doesnt need to see where they are going.

Next HPV week in Haute-Loire : 12th to 20th of July, 2008. Get to Allegre and have a ride with us in a beautiful countryside. You can stay at the hostel, B&B or at the camp site.

  • LOL! The guy in front looks too hilarious.

  • Very nice, except the people on the "belly bikes" should adjust their body/pedal position; their feet are pointed ballet-style at the bottom of each pedal stroke- big loss of power.... Over extended and not enough leverage, they can barely reach! Shorten it up and you will see a big improvement!

  • Thank you for the advice. Actually, these "prone" bicycles are easy to adjust but the owners are not good cyclists and they may not have adjusted them properly.

I have tried the blue one and it was very easy to climb very steep hills (15%). Downhills are more impressive as the head goes first (I feel more secure the legs first) but these bikes are interesting as they can go fast even uphill.

  • I was last year in Allegre for the World Championships HPV. Allegre was the best HPV venue ever and the surrounding is super! Hope to be back some day....

  • Thank you very much. We hope to welcome you back again!

  • OMG!!!
