Let's see the contrabutions the AR-18 has made. The British SA-80 later became the L85. The German G-36. The Japanese Type 89. The South Korean K-9. Just to name a few.
John Mosses browning inspired the automatic design which lead to all the auotmatic pistols, machine guns and automatic shotguns. Thank the greatest genius and the true father of modern weaponry. Look him up, he created everything famous and started the inspiration for all the others.
That Ar-18 system didn't work very well when the Brits turned it into their SA-80 series. Serves'm right for being so anti gun that their own service rifle won't work. I love irony.
And the AR-18 gas system is borrowed from the Simonov.
No matter what gun you pick up these days, there's a legacy that dates back to a previous one. The Glock and AR-15/10 are unique however because both their designers didn't actually know anything about guns and entered the design field without preconceptions.
you know its funny though,if you talk to a german who is bragging about their new g-36 and saying that it is an example of why german guns are better then american, they never realize that the hk-36 is based off of the Ar-18.lol, I love to slam them with that.
Yes but you need some intelligence to see what is better, thats why we have the G36 and you have still the AR 15 ;) Also ask for the fathers father, did you ever recognized the StG 44?!

安価は合っているけど優秀かといえば微妙
一応イラク派遣前に89式をアメリカでテストさせたらしいけど、M16系に慣れたアメリカ兵でも高い命中精度(300m先で単発19cm以内の集弾)や作動性を高く評価していたらしい。

確かにそうだね。しかし、命中精度については
扱う人の腕によって、変わるから、関係ないと思いますよ。作動性についても効率性悪いと言う話も聞きます。（それに銃というものは、撃てれば良いと言うのが、兵士の考え方で３４万円も掛けて、作る必要が無いと思いますよ。

作動性は効率悪いとはいえ、AR-18を評価した上で出来上がった89式だし、改良も加えられているからほぼ別銃の域
部品点数も12(18は細かく分ければ80前後)とかなり簡略化されている。
それに、陸自では350m先の風船を普通化が2、3発程度で当てているので、命中精度が必要とされる。
最近では一括調達が始まっていて値段も20万円代となっている。

regardless of how the sytem worked AFTER it was modified, the AR18 is a superior firearm to the M16.

Yes. It was much more reliable. The bolt and gas system of the G36 show many similarities to the AR-18.

Except the AR15's and AR10's gas system is copied off of Erik Eklund's AG42, and later used in the French MAS49.
Don't forget, the AR18 is also the father of the Japanese Type 89.
