I bet her hubby was so sad when he lost her love. What in the world would have made him make such a mistake, especially when they had 2 kids together. I always wonder why they all 4 broke up like they did. I miss this group more than any other band because they always made me happy when I heard their music. Amazing ABBA, "My Kind Of Band"
@karilwyn1959 If you hear Burning my bridges(undeled abba) you understand the relation and then hear what Agneta says at 0.20 in this video v=gvk-sC5sULE and 3rd.Björn did fell in love with the babysitter and then it was over
@Qulopuaa I had never heard this before. All I heard was that she was wanting to be more of a full time mommy, less ABBA...so Bjorn thought that a nanny was the answer to this problem...because this way she could have the kids with her as they worked and he thought that would make her happy. My goodness! So did HE pick the nanny I wonder? Still I say what a fool he was to do such a thing and lose so very much. So sad.
This song demostrates everyone that abba were very very versatile. Many people hear "abba" and only think disco "dancing queen" "mamma mia" "take a chance" or "waterloo". Abba is so much more than this.
i really like this song. i like how it starts off and i think its a very enjoyable song to listen to. my only question is where did music like this go? i mean this is quality music, not like some of the things we have today. music requires talent, a good melody, and actual singing, which is a quality that music today lacks, well some of it anyway. i wish real music would come back! i miss the good old days.....
Has anyone received a black and white autographed postcard of Agnetha in the last few years. If so, has anyone had one of these signed postcards professionally authenticated. Because I've received one recently, and I've seen a number of people on the internet, have recieved the same thing, and I'm unsure if it is authentic, original and hand signed by Agnetha herself.
Yes even the very early songs they did like this one which was without the girls are great. They set very high release standards and never made anything poor. This was the song that proved to Benny and Bjorn that they could be successful songwriters on the international market, after it was a big hit in Japan!
Yes there was a period of many months when UMG made an unwarranted claim on this video, and limited its distribution to major countries only - thus excluding yours. But now they've decided this video can be seen worldwide again, and they put adverts alongside it instead. The song came trom my Ring Ring cd that I bought. It was published by Polar music of Stockholm, so there was very little justication to the UMG claim!
Ok I've compared them by alternating between them and the song styles are similar - though I detect that the 2 Swedish guys sing at a deeper level than the more harmonic Hollies, and come across a bit clearer!
This is an UNKNOWN beauty. Kinda corny in comparison to todays music, but hey... human nature is the same and our basic feelings haven't changed over time. Gr8 find from the archives!
In addition, this song was re-released on the international version of the "Ring, Ring" album in 1973, and on the flipside of ABBA's third single- and now I've forgotten what it was! Does anyone know?
Awesome! I haven't heard this song in years! One of my all time favorites! Pure melody. Thanks for the story behind the song and the ABBA's reason for writing songs in English. I wonder if that Japanese publisher knew how much lives he was touching by his decision. I guess ABBA would have decided to go international some other way - they were so great.
Yes Abba made a lot of uniquely tuneful songs like this one, which made them stand out from other groups! I like to give the story behind every song and performance that I do a vid for to set the scene for the viewer. Abba were driven to international success by their ambitious manager Stig Anderson. They soon found it by winning Eurovision with Waterloo in 1974. The Japanese publisher was definitely instrumental in getting Abba started, by confirming they were capable of international success.
Its by Jean-Marie Potiez, Helen. I saw a copy in town on Saturday on offer for a bargain £2. I could get it if you want, if its still there next Saturday.
This sounds like Beatles to me...

The singing is very similar to the one in Bus Stop by The Hollies.
