Shelley was originally a walk on to the Halifax Mooseheads,QMJHL, as he wasnt even invited to the training camp. He faught and played his way onto the team, eventually becoming the team captain, and having his number retired by the club. Again after Jr he was not picked up right away by the NHL but through hard work here he is. Good job Jody

It was beatiful that game because shelly challenged nolan before the puck even dropped. Too bad the refs broke it up cuz the two were ready to fight. It did send the message. Shelly basically told the flames, "Don't F-CK with ME!" We won game four because we showed the flames we were not sissy's anymore. Then we won the series. Too bad ron wilson didnt play shelly against dallas. Good thing he got fired. I couldn't stand ron wilson.

I think shelly played a key role for the sharks in the first round against the flames. Remember, i think it was game four, following a terrible loss for the sharks that saw marleau get decked really hard and then lose their lead in the game. Shelly came into game four ready to send a message to the flames. The previous time these two teams faced in the playoffs, the flames beat the sharks with physical play. Not this time. Shelly chllenged owen nolan at the faceoff ready to kick some ass.
