Click to settings, then scroll down to connectivity, then settings, then choose 'data use in home country', then select your preference, which I picked 'WLAN only'.

i've got the C3-00 and have no problem with WLAN connection. but there's other issues. i downloaded whatsapp and everything was perfectly fine. untill i was out of range of my wifi connection. then it switched to paid internet automatically (while every setting, in app and on the phone itself says 'ask first') and even when i'm back in range, i keep paying. i had to delete whatsapp in order to stop the paid connection... anyone has any ideas?

go to settings-configuration-persona­l settings and make a new setting and choose web from the list that pops up don't change anything, just exit out and activate it (options-activate)

then go to internet-web settings- configuration - and see if it says Personal Settings if it doesn't just change it to that and under it shd say my web...

@markieboy018 I had the same problem. Turned out I was trying to connect to diffrent ad hoc networks which is not supported by nokia c3. Once I tried connect to a normal wifi router, there as no problem.

@WWEFAN4LIFE159 ok go to the ovi store or an online app, when it starts up it will ask how you want to connect to the internet you select your wifi and it wiill use your wifi, if this doesnt happen make sure you change the setting to ask me first before connecting to the internet and you can do this by 1. Menu –> Settings –> Connectivity –> WLAN –> Internet Connection it should be ‘Ask ...First’.

Please note that the C3 has several problems with WLAN even with the latest firmware. Usually it can't keep a WLAN connection working for more than 20 seconds, and many times it decides to use GPRS connection without asking (usually GPRS connections are payed and expensive)!

My experience after 4 months using it is that i have problems connecting to many Wi-Fi free Hot Spots usually in public places. With some i can use them well and some the phone don't work at all. The phone don't support some more sophisticated encryption protocols.

Regarding Wireless LAN routers most work well. I have good experience with Linksys and Sitecom. I think it has some problems connecting to some Belkin models as i'vre read somewhere else.

@Aluxiel Yeah, you can try what im saying by leaving you messenger online with your wifi conection when you sleep, when you wake up you will see you're still on msn with the wifi on, it's a comand to save energy, wifi conection will be lost in 5 minutes if you're not using it.
