@ShinDharma that's an interesting counterpoint, but I think Christianity (depending on the particular church- Im not denying some may pressure their followers into giving money) gives it's followers plenty of choices about how they spend their money. I just question the depths of 'Dudeism', a religion that ordains anybody that can download the certificate off the internet, sells t shirts as a central tenet, and seems to be happy to function as a tool to promote a large auto manufacturer.

The essential issue against Dudeism is that the dude wasn't actually very chill. He was freaking out the entire movie. He needs his johnson. Buddah could have gone without his johnson, man. Bottom line is, he was being very undude throughout a majority of the movie.

That's what made the movie funny... I guess being "The Dude" is an end rather than an accomplishment. Because even "The Dude" acts very undude sometimes. I'm guessing that even devout dudeists aren't always completely faithful. That's not a fault of dudeism; that's a fault of human nature
