Most Fuel Efficient Cars get 32 MPG anyway. A Mandate to improve fuel efficiency to 37 MPG by 2016 doesn't do much. Even when President Obama passes a Mandate, How often do you actually see a Mandate become Active. Do you actually think Trucks and SUV's on the road will be 37 MPG being they get 20 MPG now? The 800 Billion $ Stimulus had 237 Billion in tax cuts, its streched out un till 2019 and not all the money has been used up yet. So how can you say that Obama single handedly got us into more debt. Most Fuel Efficient Cars get 32 MPG anyway. A Mandate to improve fuel efficiency to 37 MPG by 2016 doesn't do much. Even when President Obama passes a Mandate, How often do you actually see a Mandate become Active. Do you actually think Trucks and SUV's on the road will be 37 MPG being they get 20 MPG now? Our oil drilling and oil supply is not nationalized like it is in Saudi Arabia its privatized, so the price here will always be based on the world market price or what ever makes the most profit. In Northe Dakota the state unempl rt is down to about 4% because they are 'fracking'-getting oil out of the ground. The shut down of the gulf coast killed the economy there, so spare your 'privatised vs nationalized' misunderstanding. There is nothing stopping us developing better efficiency in MPG if we drill our own natural resource.

Fracking has contaminated a large portion of the area's natural drinking water and it's only legal due to their PAC pushing to get them exempt from the clean air and water act under bush. While oil companies would like for you to believe otherwise it's still a fact. Its sort of like how big oil said 30 yrs ago that an average diesel engine couldn't run on vegetable diesel. it was a lie. What you pump at the station is only a small fraction of what comes from that original barrel. There just isnt enough space to fully discuss this issue.
