  • now bring it here ;w;

  • Awsome "Parkour academy" :D

  • hey look its mopheus from matrix at 0.25

  • You guys really should try going bigger. You should try doing things like this around news camera crew so you could be in a commercial or in the news.

  • el pk crece cada dia mas............

  • Hey, is parkour generations ascociated with urban free flow? or ADD majestic force?

  • @faquiado

They're not associated with Urban Freeflow. They are associated with Majestic Force though.

  • where can i train and what do i start with?? im dying to learn pk for a very long time..

  • Dude it's my DREAM lurn parkour with this guys!!!!!!

  • do you guys come to California Los Angles? cause if so i want to do a training class?

  • not trying to offend but this showreel really sucks, it doesn't show a clear message, it doesn't have a personality of it's own, it doesn't show team work, it's not even impressive or good edited, sorry, keep working

  • @alacranmontoya im not offended but i do think your being overly harsh on this production, there are faults in all types of work but i feel this is well edited and features some pretty good camera work and editing skills

  • woot banuile 13

  • SPIKED Parkour generations Magazine out soon!!

  • great way to practice your abilities such as balance speed and judgement and it looks fkin awesome

  • So cool. I wish I could do it, it's so facinating! - You're really good.

  • Damn, I wish they had that coaching stuff in America.

  • is 22 too old to start?

  • No ! :D Everyone can do it, you just need pasion :)

  • no its ok....some poeples start at 40 and more...22 is good year :D...but make sure to your training you cant begin parkour with vaults but with stretching making muscles and things like that.. :d

  • no, you can start at any age.

  • @kamoplads no man theres ppl who are like in their late thirties who do this.

  • no you might just have to work a little harder

and why are you people giving kamo thumbs down it was a good question

  • well that's encouraging. ^_^

...and yeah, why thy the thumbs down? lol

  • im 19 and only knew what is parkour this year

wish i was training since i was a kid

  • Age is not a limit :).

  • WHY...why couldnt i be born when they were? why do i have to be a freaking 12 year old so i cant by a plane ticket to london to do this stuff? WHHHYYYYY?!!?!!?!?!?! ( seriously man, for the lose.)

  • TO train Pakrour, you don't need a ticket.

All of this is fluffy, unnecessary stuff...

  • i understand that, but if you live out in the middle of nowhere, its sorta hard no? nothing to train on.

  • That´s no excuse, just keep your eyes open and you will find things to train on everywhere in your environment. It doesn´t always have to be a rooftop or something, just look for the easy things to train basics on. I think it isn´t that hard to find a wall or a rail or stuff like that...

  • walls that i can do things on, yes. if i tried to jump off a wall at my house, id probably go THROUGH the wall. rails? nope. i live on a dirt road, surrounded by trees. and dont even say to use the trees as a substitute for walls -.-

  • Why not dude?

  • you mean the tree thing? what? do you expect me to be able to do a frikkin wall run?

  • yea

  • its a good thing ur younge and are interested, the younger the better my friend, gives you more time to train and practice :) by time ur 18 trust me ur b a pro ;)

  • its better to b ur age , and train ull learn quicker and have more to offer wen ur there age

  • im 13...we all gotta live with a make the best of it

  • DUDE.... 12? start training now then while ur young! dont wait.. u dont need london! .. peace

  • i love parkour im a starter traceur but i wanna b better....wanted to say that peace

  • wow

    really nice

    teaching is a good thing

    cool video

    peez

  • I have been to one of the places in this video while they were practicing in columbus on the water front... i even participated... Parkour Generations (if not already) will eventually be everywhere

  • Nice job, touching with the little guy you helped at the school who got so proud of himself!

  • Cool! That one guy at 1:24 was teaching me in Finland!

  • Urbanfreeflow's showreel consists a lot footage of Stephane Vigroux and Forrest who have not been part of Urbanfreeflow for several years. UF put the showreel together after they had left and have tried to advertise UF as having Stephane and Forrest in them.

  • mate where have you been..? parkour generation have been everywhere! look on their news, they do ads for canon, samsung, kswiss, adidas... and much better as they show the real art, not just tricking!

  • "Mate".. I've been right here watching and laughing the whole time. Where else would I be? Julie, whether or not they have not been part of UF, it's still footage of them working for UF doing UF jobs. That was my point. I would imagine you guys would not go back to that era, instead of exploit it, to use it to continue to strive to go back to it.

  • Ce sa mai?...superb!

  • i wish one day to join this high school

    Brahinem

  • That's my World ! !

  • damnn..

i wish i had these spots near where i live..

and i wish that there more girls here who pk's..

    lols..

  • parkour without discipline would be instead suicide!

  • Well discipline can also mean surmounting a fear. Like you have to discipline your mind so you will can learn without being distracted, etc.

By the way Teghead, you're one of the cool people who don't start swearing their heads off in an argument/discussion.

  • Im in the argument and i'm not swearing 0_o lol.

  • Respect.. Respect +_+

  • great vid

  • love the video as usual =D a really nice flowing video ^_^

  • the greatest school ever of parkour

    good luck mates

    Brahinem

  • tight video

  • I love it!

  • epiccc

  • very nice man, take many years practicing parkour???

  • Great Stuff as usual

  • I love parkour!!

  • ea!

  • Nice video Julie. I really enjoyed that. It was a very nice edit. The music was mellow, and my only criticism is that when it got about halfway - 3 quarters of the way through, you were very aware that the video still has some time to go. I think a slightly shorter video would work a tiny bit better.

Overall I loved it. And with regard to the comment of not seeing anything new for a year...RDV3, Youtube Live (performance and edits released), etc etc

  • I think you're actually right. The "commercials" sequence is maybe a tad too long? It's all good stuff, of course, but with Julie's high standards, it ain't easy to find much to criticize...

  • Pk Generations need to hold a west cost jam some time maybe in the Denver or flagstaff area...

  • If only there were somewhere I could go to learn parkour the right way.

  • the whole point of teaching inner city kids parkour is so that they do not get involved with the police and so that thye do not commit crimes as they have something that they can enjoy.

  • teaching inner city kids parkour,is gonna make the polices job a lot harder :)

  • Wow that's a really arrogant way to think, and no traceur should be thinking about turning an art that is meant for good into something used for bad things. and if you're a traceur and you think "Oh It's good for running from the cops" you should really study the philosophy alot more. Oh, and by the way even if you did use it to run from the cops, the police have a nifty little device called a TASER.

  • traceurs.... i think that cops can have alittle bit of a problem trying to run after the traceur and whil hes at it trying to shot the 2 needles at him...

  • You just repeated your last comment... my point way that you shoudln't reference Parkour to running from the cops.

  • On the contrary, the cops have no trouble at all catching a traceur because a traceur never attempts to run away.

  • i like that

  • D'you wanna not include yours and others' personal outlooks and opinions in the word Parkour please?

Some of us are fed up of having the opinions of idolised practicionners preached as the meaning of Parkour: which is essentially jumping on walls.

Obviously you're still riding that wagon merrily.

  • Lol talking about using parkour to run from the cops isn't an "opinion" it's just arrogance. and no... you must not do parkour if you think it's "jumping on walls" If parkour is jumping on walls then skateboarding is riding on a log, football is running across a field, basketball is sliding a ball in a hoop, and nascar is driving in circles. (all of that is true to me, but then again I don't like sports. just trying to prove a point.)

  • Well actually teghead doesn't do parkour. He's more into RAGE FROOBLING, I believe.

  • haha nice one !! :] and yes people who think of parkour as just " jumping " shouldn't be practicing , or watching vids about parkour .

  • Wow you seem to have some interesting views; you certainly express them in an incredibly objective way.

Notice the way everything in your sentences "is"? This IS that and that IS this.

I think it's difficult not to be like this of course, as all your surroundings and experiences are perceived through the many convuluted filters of your brain: you are the centre of your own little universe; so I won't hold it against you.

  • P.S. You use the word "arrogance" in a strange context, I don't quite understand what it is you're trying to express there. Are you sure you're familiar with the commonly agreed meaning of the word?

Maybe using a different, better thought-out word would helps others to understand your thoughts.

  • no. Maybe YOU don't understand the english language. I used arrogance in place of the word "ignorance", pretty much the same thing.

  • Haha you are a funny dude.

  • parkour requires the same discipline as a martial art. it is not just jumping on walls, it is the art of efficient movement.

  • Discipline Schmishipline; prove it. Show me some examples of people training in an optimal way to get better at fast, efficient/useful displacement, with discipline.

  • This video shows it... It's not a "sport" like people like to put it. For sports you don't have special exercises made for just that sport, there isn't a philosophy behind sports, and there is no meaning behind sports. It is a discipline. What's different between martial arts and parkour? You have to train really hard for both, both have certain movements to master, both have philosophys... What's different?

  • Exercises are made specific to sports, for your information.

What you also need to bear in mind is that the human body isn't suddenly a different entity when practising Parkour to when doing any other sport: the body works in the same way. An athlete always has to be conscious of muscular imbalances; they also need to be very clear about their goals and use the best possible methods for reaching their specific goals.

Physical fitness training is usually split into 2 categories:

  • Specific physical preparedness (SPP) and General physical preparedness (GPP).I can imagine the GPP regimes of an athlete in Parkour with clear goals closely mirroring that of a sporting athlete.

P.S. Martial arts teach you to hurt or kill people. Parkour does not, there's one difference, if that wasn't a rhetorical question. =S

  • P.S.S. Who's to say what has meaning and what dosn't.

I would hope that it is plainly obvious for most people that the abstract ideas of meaning/worth/value are TOTALLY subjective.

Sport of all variety does have meaning for many people, whatever you think of it. Similarly, Parkour has no meaning for some people. Many sporting activities carry with them a lifestyle and common "philosophies" held by its practittioners: rock climbing would be a good example.

  • Man you're doing a really good job at trying to sound intelligent. It's not my opinion that sports don't have meaning, it's a fact. That's why it's called sports. It's just a game, it's freindly competition. And yes, Parkour doesn't have meaning to some people, either people who don't practice it, or people who haven't been doing it long enough to start developing understanding of the philosophy. Rock climbing doesn't have a philosophy. It is a sport. A very DIFFERENT sport, but still a sport.

  • Is there a problem with your brain? Let me fix it with my knees an elbows.

  • lol?

  • i don't think sports COMPLETELY lack meaning. they're meant for entertainment. (and ridiculous salaries) parkour (which is not a sport) is like martial arts in their true form, a way of life. i get what you're saying, even though knee and elbow man may not

  • Well yeah they're fun for people who enjoy sports ( I don't, I can have a little fun kicking a soccer ball around from time to time lol) But they don't really have PHILOSOPHIES, which is why they're called sports and not disciplines =)

But yeah, it's nice to talk to someone who doesn't have their head stuck up their ass. =P

  • Both qualities of "Ignorance" and "Arrogance" I could apply to my limited internet-perception of your views. And this would be using the words for what they mean, mind you.

Please outline the philosophy of Parkour; and then give examples of this philosophy in action; and then state your case for why the components of Parkour philosophy are completely unique to Parkour.

Then, once you have done this, I will aim to give the countering evidence in as clear and precise a manner as possible.

  • please outline the definition of philosophy within parkour, note examples, then may others consider your views or take them into account.

  • Too many words, Teg. Don't lose yourself in this battle of egos.

"One candle can light a thousand." You've heard that saying, yeah? But think about it. If that candle tipped itself to light all the others, it would melt away quickly. The other candles have to tip towards it instead. It's the only way the metaphor works. It's the only way all this stuff really works.

    So just be.

  • That's a beautiful metaphor; but I'm not a candle, actually.

    Thanks for your concern.

  • Here's how I see it:

Olympic athletes, on the whole: train harder; train with better knowledge and better-directed efforts; have more discipline; tailor their lifestyle to their sport with more focus; gain just as much meaning and put just as much of their personal philosophies and intellectual processes upon their sport and their training as ANY martial artist or traceur.

  • Love it! Ive seen just about every bit of footage, but the edit and ofcourse the quality of that footage makes it worth watching.

  • niceeeee!!!!!

  • im sorry but i dont think ive seen anything new from PKGEN in the last YEAR

all the parkour footage is just reused stuff, i mean seriously, if you're out filming all your events and conditioning things would it hurt to make a little showreel for the actual team?!

  • And how does it concern you if they haven't done anything? :o :D

  • Rendezvous 3 edit ...

  • Maybe they are too busy training and doing what they do to have time for showreels etc..? I know all of these guys couldn't care less about appearing in videos, they are about living the art believe me.

  • my goood...i wanna to go to France...

  • they all live in london

  • but parkour is legalized in France :P :)

  • 4th comment yay

  • So many things wrong with that.

    -WOODY-

  • i need to find a parkour club
