  • I have the original CD to this game at home I have beaten this game and did it right this time

  • Thanks for the gameplay! Been wondering if someone had done it.

  • Freaking love this game. I wish I could get it to run on my computer now!!! But watching this is almost just as good :)

  • OMG so many memories! My sister and I use to play this all the time when we were kids but could never beat it. Thanks for posting!

  • I have this game too

  • This game was so well done for it's time... Gosh I miss it T.T I wouldn't mind going back and playing it again, this game and Myst ^_^

  • this game is awesome besides the fact that is always freezes when i go upstairs to f-class

  • I love this game ! Im a big fan of Titanic as well and this was just an amazing game to play back when it was first released, hell its still great to play now! Wish I could wipe my memory though so I can play it again without knowing what to do :(

  • if I may ask, what program did you use to record this, if frapps didn't work?

  • @Skiddles224 *takes a deep breath*, i while back i purchased a program called "Desktop Video Recorder", nifty little program it allows you to record your entire desktop or just a small section. Thing is this too wouldn't record TITANIC whilst it was running full screen so i downloaded a program called VMWARE that kinda like an emulator for operating systems. Using it i was able to run windows xp on my desktop in a small window like it were a program. I used this to install and play titanic.

  • @BanishedGAZ whilst recording using Desktop video recorder from my windows vista desktop.

  • @BanishedGAZ So to clarify:

    1. Download VMWARE to play titanic in a small window on your desktop

    2. Use Desktop Video Recorder to record titanic whilst it's playing

  • This was one of the first big games I ever played on PC and still high ranked agmonst my favorites. I'm so glad someone was able to record this sucessfully, I've tried a few times myself with no luck

  • I absolutely love this game. One of the best adventure games I've ever played. It would be awesome to see a remake but I can't ever see that happening.

  • @fishlikelong I know what you mean. I wish it still ran on my PC.

  • man, a remake for the anniversary would kick so much ass! i'd miss the nostalgia factor though, but even if it never happens i'm definitely playing the whole thing on april 14th...

  • @ChriseviI1106 wow.. we talked about this yesturday... let it go man

  • Greetings. I have the game, but the new computers don t take the old format. do you know how to download both discs in the hard disc? i never got the end. thanks.

  • @ChriseviI1106 Aw c'mon Chris don't get dramatic, calm yourself

  • @ChriseviI1106 you just said it was no problem of yours that i think your bullshitting... your willing to do that work to prove it to me? lol go ahead make your video

  • @ChriseviI1106 lol i do think your bullshitting and it's no problem of mine, take care

  • @ChriseviI1106 it was created and designed to install and play on a windows 98 operating system. If you tried to install it on a new computer I.E a comp running windows 7 im pretty sure the computer would just explode trying to figure out what to do with the disk. If you managed to put in the disk and have it install you'd be one of the very very first to be able to do this. How did you get it to work?

  • @BanishedGAZ as far as im aware compatability mode doesnt even work

  • @BanishedGAZ lol the oldest game i have is from 1972 for atari 2600

  • @ChriseviI1106 ......... sorry but your lying

  • This game is soooo UNBELIEVABLE! I wish I could play it once again, but I cannot install it on my Win7 anymore :'(

  • I played this game, Myst, and Riven when I was around 10 or 12.. Damn this is nostalgia. I love those games. They really helped me to develop a keen sense of discernment as a young kid. Ah. the 90's ;)

  • I owned this game when I was kid and played it nonstop even if I didn't understood it. I can no longer play it since one disk is cracked and the other is missing.

  • @kurumi123451 It's a game i wish they'd bring back out as a "classic" going by the views it would defenetly sell again. Would be awsome if it were made with next gen 'point & click' graphics but keeping the same story and voice files.

  • @kurumi123451

You can get it for a few pounds on ebay. I have got an old lap top that plays it on xp.

  • I have to say, I love the music.

  • Best game EVER. When I moved I lost one of the CDs and never spent so much time searching for a lost item. Kept my old Mac just for this gem. Tickled pink others appreciate it as well! They should make a version for PS3. It's probably better than L. A. Noire....

  • I love this game, I always for scared when stealing the rubaiyat

  • This was my favourite game back in the day until I accidently broke the CD! If I bought this game again would it play on a Windows 7 laptop?

  • It's a shame that the enormous amount of creativity that went into this game was held back by the technology of the era.

  • Win guy. Fucking win. I never beat the game sadly.

  • Wow the game look preety amazing for 1996 o.O

  • i always thought the music was kind of eerie

  • i used to be obsessed with this game! got it for christmas last year cause my mum remembered how much i loved it but it doesn't work on my newer system - so gutted

  • was this in any way based on a try story of was this all just a way to make a quick buck

  • Classic game, still mysterious, eerie and fun!

  • this is just me thinking out loud but I wish someone could get the rights and remake this game...but hey that's just me.

  • thanks for turning off the music that shits scary

  • I loved this game when I was a kid. I barely knew the history at the time, but I got so good I could get the painting before anyone else. I really wish I still had this.

  • love the game :)

  • I used to play thos game ALL THE TIME and my grandparents never beat it though lol.

  • That's not the way to the Grand Staircase. You don't go through a white door. xD

  • thanks for uploading this...it brings back memories :)

  • @SkyHigh87 yes it does! great game

  • the voice of the old sound system sounds like zigsaw :L

  • Omg, I haven't played this game in years... what a nostalgia trip.

  • This was my first mystery game, and it has a special place in my heart. I love it dearly, thanks for posting this!!!

  • in the intro i read : Windows Compatibility ! Does that mean this game was devekoped first for Mac OS ?

  • digitized graphics. The thing I love about 90s games.

  • @MrHoppers002 what do you mean

  • you don't know what digitized graphics are?

  • @MrHoppers002 I don't. Surely all games these days have digitised graphics, even moreso than the 90s which used short bits of video (as in this game)?

  • no you're thinking of computer generated 3d images. digitzed graphics is literally taping the actors and feeding the tape into the computer to create what you see like in this game. for example the first 3 mortal kombat games.

  • @MrHoppers002 Ah! Thanks! In that case, I love that feature of 90s games as well!

  • Love this game! So wonderful to see this walkthrough! :)

  • you are a stupid and your pc is _I_

  • @cristi19999 Being that your just a kid i'll let your retardness slide, but nice try troll :) *pats

  • @cristi19999 Haha! Pathetic troll is pathetic!

  • I've got this game on CD Rom and I've got Windows 7, and it won't work for me. Is there anything I can download to make it play correctly?

  • @FilthyLilSecret6 download a program called VMWARE or VMPLAYER. It lets you install another windows on your computer that you can run from your windows 7 desktop like it's just another program. What i did was from Vista i booted up a windows xp operating system. Installed titanic on it and boom worked and i could record it

  • @BanishedGAZ

Thanks so much. I'll check it out. :-):

  • @FilthyLilSecret6 Virtualbox is similar. Still need a copy of XP . You might also try Ubuntu and WINE. You won't need windows but you will need a few hours. Another option to look into would be to upgrade WIN7 to ultimate. I think purchasing a copy of XP and installing it to a second hard drive would be more straightforward.

You could also check ebay for an older desktop. about the same price as an XP disk and you can use it later for old games like this, Minecraft srvr or network storage.

  • @BanishedGAZ is it free to download?

  • Wow this game brings back memories! I got this game at a Costco as a kid after playing Myst (ok well my older sister played them both and I watched and helped.) I found the CD in my Music collection and saddly it no longer works cause of 64 bit :( and my Win95 computer needs Win95 to be reinstalled but that CD broke.....

Time to look for the Windows 3.1 floppies.

  • I played this in 1997 with my stepfather.

I remember a guy stabbing me in the boiler room.

    NOSTALGIA

  • I used to really love this game many years ago! is there any way if i bought this game again i can get it to work on windows XP? i wanna play it!! xx

  • OMG i had this game around the same time it was awsome! the russian doll bit had me stumped for ages, and with no internet for me back then it took ages of maths to get it right ! thanks for the upload dude, oh the memories!

  • I would like know all of the sound tracks, some of them are great. On is from F.Chopin, but there's others from him, and i don't know their name. thanks ?

  • @LoupSurMesYeux

I believe the one playing on the radio is Chopin's prelude in A Major. If not A Major, it's definitely another Prelude :)

  • @looney1023

Hello Looney, Yes you are right. Since the last time I found it on internet. It's the

Prélude in A Major, Op.28 no.7. Got this ont Itune now.

If you like it, there's many chopin's music you must like. See you ;-)

  • I LOVED THIS GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • the old times are scary, it made me realize because of this game..

  • if THIS is the oldest game you have and it runs in like 5 FPS... your computer sucks

  • @yoavcool1 I dont usually respond to this kind of trolling but there was so much wrong with what you said i just have to correct you.

    1. If you download this video and use a program called fraps it will show you that the video is recorded in 30 frames per second

    2. When a game is created it's usually made to run using technology available at the time. When you put a game that was made 14 years ago onto a current day computer it usually struggles because it wont reconise the hardware.

  • @BanishedGAZ

    5. So bottom line, if you felt that the game in this video looked jerky it's because the game was created that way.

    6. If you actually go to my channel and look at other games i've uploaded like Mass Effect 2 or Silent Hill you'l see my computer is not shit.

  • @yoavcool1

    3. The game is so old that a lot of today's programs failed to record it at all so instead i had to run the game through a virtual machine program and then record using a program called desktop video recorder. Through this process you do loose a little fps because of all the programs being used at once but surprisingly i was still able to record this at 30 fps.

    4. Characters you encounter in this game are depicted by superimposed live-action video using a relatively low frame rate.

  • Whenever I play this, I make sure to say "just a touch" as opposed to asking what mal de mer is so Smethles doesn;t think I'm stupid. No idea why.

  • Man, I played this game A TON in grade school. I remember I didn't finish it until middle school. But I loved it SO much.

  • SMEBLES!!!!

  • i remember this game,,i got really far,,but i dont think i changed the history,,i dont think you can can you?

  • @someguy111222 Yes you can. I avoided both world wars at the end.

  • @kris01987

ahh i see so u actully can change time. yea this game is old but im a fan of myst, so i enjoyed this. I got this game from my dad long time ago, but some how the ship always hit the iceburg i never did stick around to find out if i could change time, i always thought you couldnt avoid it.

  • @someguy111222 The ship always sinks. It's not about preventing the Titanic disaster. It's about later disasters that the game ties to certain pasengers

  • Thank you so much for posting this! My first pc game... what awesome memories.

  • nice hope to have this

  • screw halo i want this for my birthday!

  • that steward is the scariest part of the game

  • is that for pc or wii or all gameboys taht looks like a fun game

  • @roomybrody It was released on Windows 95 and Mac back in 1996 and it was a GREAT game. I managed to get it working on Windows XP even though it still crashes from time to time. :-)

  • @sfinn85 how did u get it to work on xp?? xx

  • @samuella1985 Funnily enough, I just put the first disc in my CD-ROM drive and the little box that says 'Install' came up on the screen. I was really surprised. :-o

  • @sfinn85 haha wish it was that simple for me! :)

  • Graphics were actually very good for 1996-7, though I suppose they were all prerendered videos (look at the file structure)

  • ah god. sweet memories.. crysis smysis, fmv's where it's at!

  • i hav this game is it fun i havent plade it yet

  • BOWT TOIM YOUR AWAYYYKE.

YA TWO WEEKS LATE WITH YA RENT.

  • Love this game. Thanks for a wonderful playthrough that isn't ruined by "commentary". Bravo, sir.

  • That Hindenburg ticket would make a cool sequel.

  • @TravellinMan94 It's coming, called Bioshock Infinite

  • Please, make a remake!!!

  • I want this game for Kinect!

  • Does anyone know of any other more recent games like this? By that I mean, interactive puzzle games based on problem solving? I don't really play PC games much at all but I would be curious to know if they still make ones as good as this or if it was one of a kind.

  • @levanyzzuf I am curious too. I have heard and saw the review for one where you are on this train and there are multiple endings in which you have to stop something in three days or did I get the 3 days part confused with Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask?

  • @Luciferminusone i reckon you're talking about The Last Express. Haven't played it's a puzzle games that does simulate real time

  • Wow, I've been searching for this game for forever.

  • It you open the food cabinet, you 'll see a roach crawling - that is one of the little details I do remember from this. xD Thank you for the walkthrough. My disc for this game was scratched, so I can't play it now. =/ *sad*

  • Such good memories. I used to watch my brother play this game. I actually do still have it!

  • My dad used to laugh at me mocking the landlord lady in the apartment. :) This brings back so many happy memories. I beat this game inside, outside, and upside-down only after 1000 attempts to escape with everything; I didn't think it history could change. I would love to have a whole day to play it again with the little bit of strategy I still remember. :)

  • This game is so much better now that I can understand what is going on.

  • Was the electric camel a real device or just for the game?

  • As soon as the landlady yells at you she gets silenced by the bomb! I wonder if she saw thta coming?

  • i remember my sister playing this game, then i remembered ruining the game and how angry she was.

  • lol i like when he tells you to click on their face rofl

  • this game and MYST

  • I remember playing this game when I was little. I never had the attention span but the creepy atmosphere and music was somewhat.. pleasing.. I think that is what drew me to this game. It's absolutely unique in style and is closely rendered if not exactly to the 7th Guest; a creepy horror about a haunted house you've been invited to that turns out to be trapped. They both use the 256 colors and 640 x 480 pixel resolution since it was made at the same time or even before this game. What a classic!

  • @WorkingCH44 Ah agreed i used to have the 7th guest but lost it somewhere along the line, was such a good game, There is a version you can play online now and a version you can play on the iphone for $2.99 but i'd love to get my hands on the original.

  • 10:53 is how I feel about our wordly politicians fighting with each other because of powers promised by the 5 dimensional beings.

  • it took titanic to sink less then 2 houres

  • i remember my big sister played this game and i used to watch her

  • That music that is playing at the beginning for some reason creaps me out.

  • @erntay2008 Relaxing to me.

  • @erntay2008 Are you talking about when he's in the room in the beginning, or the title screen over the ocean with the icebergs flying by?

  • @khmerutube When he's in the room, it does for some strange weird reason I don't know why, though.

  • I still have my discs but it's a damn shame they won't load on my computer. Many hours were spent on this masterpiece of a game during my childhood.

  • the graphics are OK

  • you should leave the water running in your cabin and sink the ship that way

  • I always found this game to have a kreepy atmosphere. Even the opening and closing of the doors sounds eery.

  • best game ever played. played it on windows 95 back in the day.

  • This game means so much to me! I can play it anymore but i have all of the music on my iPod!

  • @14McCracker how did u get the music?

  • I actually REMEMBER this game! But the other thing I remember is that I snapped the disc in half...

  • Ha! Never expected someone to upload that play-through! Thanks man! I really miss playing it.

  • @hanbobs

The original game was actually a dual-disc containing both Win98 and Classic Mac OS versions of the game.

    Kinda like Starcraft.

  • me and my friend had this game and we could never get off the ship with everything! Got it in a box somewhere in the loft. hmm wonder if they sell it for Macs? Might have to invest! =)

  • where do u get the game

  • omg i remember this game! such a long time ago, i thought it was the coolest computer game i had at the time. :)

  • you know! 98 years ago, titanic strikes the iceberg and it sank in 4 hours!

  • @Nathanieltan100 It took 2 hours and 40 minutes for the ship to sink after hitting the iceberg...

  • Good heavens, is Frank Carlson voiced by Patrick Allen?!!.

  • Specifically what programs did you use for this? I've been wanting to do a review of this game, however, like you I have had an incredibly hard time finding a way to record it. Fraps doesn't work, and a few of the other screen recorders I have tried end up giving horrid picture quality.

Can you please tell me the name of the virtual machine you used? Thanks in advance.

  • @grievous056 the program is called VMWARE it allowed me to install a windows xp operating system on vista just as it was another program. It's sorta like an emulator for operating systems. What i did was install and start Titanic in windows xp using VMWARE then i used a second program on vista called desktop video recorder which let me put a recording box around the VMWARE screen and record. Then i imported the recorded video to movie maker 2.6 and started slicing and dicing. Hope this helps

  • I'm with you...this, Frankenstein, and Dracula are currently the oldest games in my possession.

  • oh wow, i have this game somewhere around here, it has been years and year since I played it, great game though.

  • lol sorry to day dude but i was like wtf is this lol

ps great to have you back GAZA

  • @djklink20009 lol i know a lot will have the same reaction as you but wth its one of my favorite games from my child hood and its very difficult to record for you tube, as i found away i thought why not?. We're talking a game from 1997 lol, The highest resolution you can play it it in 640 x 480 pixels and 256 colors so i understand how bad it looks. Its a classic in my book though

  • @BanishedGAZ 1997 ey cool I think I was playing sega Saturn & mega drive games back then heheh

  • @BanishedGAZ told you it be popular lol
