  • gawd thats frekin loud

  • OK give it 2 tones and some solenoids and make it do the firecall! LOL JK JK!

  • dude thts the same siren my city has!

  • who posted this?

  • what do u mean who posted this

    and why

  • @tdhooge you sound scared there did you steal this video

  • kdksiren says that the ones in amarillo are loud as hell

  • actually i think these use like 1000Hz tones so they don`t get much distance

  • 790 Hz I think. 750 for the 2001 DC

  • The 2001SRN, 2001DC, and 2001AC used a belt driven rotator like the Thunderbolt which required a larger rectangular rotator box. The 2001SRNB and the 2001-130 are gear driven and don't require the larger box so they're more square. Also, the 2001SRN used a smaller box on the back and was slightly higher pitched than the 2001DC or AC.

  • I think it the 2001 SRN*DC

  • Do they make an SRN DC?

  • This must be a small town

  • there is about 2000 people here in Halstead

  • a siren like like this must give good coverage for the whole town

  • maybe on the map...but it may not reach everyone's ear.

  • do you have a solution that problem

  • lower toned siren and one that puts out more DBs, like a t-135 ir sentry sirens. the best ones are the old CD sirens, such as the thunderbolt

  • I agree thanks for the input

  • no problem. my city has all 2001s...they upgraded(downgraded) the system this year

  • what city is this

  • same here except Kansas City has been 2001 only since '91 after the thunderbolt at downtown airport was hit by a plane during the '91 air show. Within a month a 2001 was already screaming away like fingernails on a blackboard. lol

  • lol...i wish it was a 2001 instead of a tbolt that got hit.

  • hell yes. and if it was more recent, a modulator and a 612 too.

  • hell yea, but they are replacing our grea old t-bolt 1000 with whelens and p-90's

  • that sucks ass..i'd rather see em be replaced with 2001s than whelens...well atleast they're not replacin em with ATIs.

  • Yeah.

  • yes I was right under it plus it was very windy out

  • This siren is at 6th and santa fe I think or 6th and locust its on the edge of the middle school and high school parking lot.

I was right there at the siren plus it was windy out.

  • That's a shame that this is the only siren Halstead has. Are they really too small for more sirens or is it something else?

  • it would be nice if we had one further north but what can I say. you can hear the siren all over town but if your inside it's kinda hard to.

  • Where exactly is this siren located on 6th St.?

  • it is 6th and santa fe. its on school property between the middle school and high school

  • That siren is a 2001 SRNB.

  • It actually appears to be a 2001SRN, not a 2001SRNB. It looks like it has the normal TBolt style rotator housing.

  • What's the difference between the 2?

  • @thecompanycar SRN and SRNB are the same thing SRN stands for siren

  • @TheFiremansavage I appreciate the explanation. Actually the difference between the two is the rotator mechanism and housing. The SRN has the Thunderbolt-style rectangular rotator housing for it's belt driven rotator while the SRNB rotator housing is more like an even sided cube housing a direct gear driven rotator.
