  • Is this GSP or downtown!?!?

  • Nicely Executed.

  • Lol at he last second, right before the runway begins you can see the Trophy Club Strip club on the right...

  • @NORML85 LOL yea that the Trophy Club I have seen a few Trophy's there

  • used to bypass this airport everyday/

  • its downtown, not GSP, you can see the motor mile, the church, hooters, and bojangles

  • @NORML85 this si the air port near 291

  • @EdwardPack1988 That would be the same one. 291 is on the other side of the airport. Well actually its called Pleasantburg Dr. 291 is further down. So yea its what I said, were talking about the same one brother

  • @NORML85 cool

  • What do the runway numbers mean? Why aren't they just numbered 1, 2 and so on??

  • Wow ! That's was a very smooth landing.The cam didn't even shake.

  • Nicely done

  • im pretty sure they dont get paid much anymore....

  • I asked the person that made the video and they said it was KGMU!!

  • Gee, I wonder why pilots get paid what they do

  • we get paid for knowing how to use the electronics correctly, but thats not all

  • Nicely done. Nothing better than breaking out at minimums followed by a greaser!

  • Nice to see thhis video again. Mr Nixon still is the best I have seen. He was good in Dial Up but he is even better in DSL. I wish you would post more of your flying as Yours is the one I enjoy the most of all of the videos on the web.

  • Is it me or I see the approaching lights as if they're suspended in the air from 1:20 on? Or are they mounted on poles?

  • Mounted on poles

  • What airport did you land at (airport code)? thx

  • Its Greenville SC (Greenville Downtown)

    KGMU

NOT KGSP GREER ( Greenville-Spartanburg Internatinal Airport )

South Carolina that some people think I was refering to

  • pretty sure they are hovering in air.

  • I flew Citation IIs under §135 for 5 years, and after sometime I could not tell apart one airport from another. But I loved every airport and every flight!

  • I agree with imakeunumb. Clearly shot in Greenville, SC. You can see intersection of Haywood and Laurens Road at 1:06 into the video. Excellent video.

  • fastattack is a dick

  • i would say thats almost a cat III

    nice landing ;)

  • Wow!!!!! unbelievable landing. Good job!

  • Mate you are a freak that was awesome. Thats the best approach and landing I have seen in IMC.

  • Thank you for the nice comment.

I honestly wish that they are all that smooth.

It does help that the approach is at my home base airport in Greenville, SC.

    Take care "Mate"

  • Beautiful Landing man. I love those real IMC. Makes Landings so much fun! Happy Landings

  • Sorry guys.. this is not Greenville SC. (GSP). Fly in all the time, and the roads/buildings did not look right. Dont see I-85 or the michelin building and their are too many buildings at runway end. The road around the end, as well as the lights appear similar.. but....

GSP is runway 4, not 1 as you see in the video. Also, the taxiway is not there...... check Google Earth if you need to verify it yourself

    regards.....

  • OK Mr. Know it all! If you had been paying attention you would have noticed that the ILS stated in the video is actually Runway 1 Refer to the current SE AFD on page 302 you will see that GMU is listed as Greenville. SC. With Runways 01, 19. The adjacent GSP International Airport is listed in the AFD is listed as Greer, SC on page 303.With Runway orientation 4 & 22.

Greenville Spartanburg (KGSP) is the airport that you so erroneously made comments upon.

  • My sincere apologies..thought in process of uploading different videos, the location could have been swapped by mistake.

Not sure my response justified the holier than though flame.. but hey.. to each your own. Simple "Down town Airport, not GSP could have sufficed.. but hey.. " Have not flown into GMU Municiple, and driving down laurens or haywood, did not recall seeing the landing strobes...

    Mea Culpa

  • This is KGMU right, Greenville Municiple Airport? I live in Spartanburg so im closer to KSPA, infact 10 minutes from KSPA, and 20 from KGMU. Great landing

  • im pretty sure its KGSP

  • Its KGMU, look closely at the runway number. 1, GSP only has 4 and 22

  • That is 100 % correct

  • GSP only has one runway, and it is numbered 4/22. The jet in the video landed on runway 1, and crossed an intersecting runway at 1:49. This is GMU judging by the fact that it has two runways, the short control tower, and the buildings and roads flown over on approach.

  • Very nice, you make IFR approches look easy. Really like the way you hold off the nose wheel. Silky smooth! Bet your passengers think you hung the moon!

  • Nive vid, What`s the landing speed?, looks so low

  • Vref is usual 104 KIAS ( knots indicated airspeed ) but could be as low a 99 KIAS depending on weight and landing field elevation

  • beautiful!

  • duanecarpenter, no Citation II has an autoland autopilot! It can fly you to the numbers, but then a human pilot has to take over. Good pilot job, Mr Nixon!

  • smootha than Billy Dee Williams.

  • WOW

  • This is the second video I have seen by Mr. Nixon. I was wondering if he was hand flying or if the auto pilot was engaguged both times as to the smoothness of the approach as well as the center-line line up? Either way I did not notice any bobble or transition flutter from the ILS to Visual during the approach. Mr. demonstrates many hours of expertiece in the left seat of the Cessna Citation.

  • Beautiful...not even a discernible camera shake on touchdown!
