I have never played final fantasy so u can't say for sure but the final fantasy series has good and bad games I've heard and every zelda game made by nintendo (not the cdi ones those don't count) has been good.
Final fantasy X= Fantastic music (Uamatsu himself) great characters, 40+ hours of story, beautiful love sceens and intresting villains
Twilight princess= Decent songs, someone more emo than sephiroth, 15 hours of gameplay, the kid is wearing tights and the same villain as the last 8 times.

Actually Zelda is no question is better, without a second breath better. Zelda actually came out with the leveling system before FF1, zelda is better.

It teached how to do a 3D game properly, and this is something no one can buy or dispute. I Like Both, but FF Is better IMO. Better storyline, more complexity. Everyone debates between OOT and FF7. Although OOT is the best game on the N64, It Don't hold a candle to FF7. FF7 is longer and harder and wayyy more complex while OOT is short and easy. Also, there isn't much leveling up goin on in Zelda, just get more hearts, which isn't really mandatory at all with the simple gameplay. They Both Are Awesome, But Square-Enix Has The Edge Over Nintendo on this one.

The franchise does feature some great CGI but Uematsu is not even close to Koji Kondo's masterpieces. Its way too easy to throw a choir and play any random composition using violins... Its not all about doing dumb erratic orchestrations but about having what to play.

Even Monster Hunter Tri features a better/more suitable OST. I like my videogames memorable. Thank you.

I haven't played much of 9 at all, but of what I did he was always happy, and when I watched a Let's Play of most of the game, he wasn't emo apart from that one scene when he starts to break down and "Not Alone" plays. But anyway, moving on.

I think Final Fantasy always sucked except for crystal chronicles. The stories were lame and unimagenative and the gameplay was like watching my dog lick himself, very very very boring

Fianl fantasy has more realistic character development (zelda has none at all) WAAAAY better music, graphics and gaming experience. When finishing a FF game (mostley 7-9) you feel like you just come out of the cinema. Playing FF is an experience not just a game.

I cant stand final fantasy, its always some sappy love story and the battle system always makes you have to stop and pick out attacks. Zelda on the other hand lets you explore the vast world of Hyrule and let you do things your way. final fantasy makes you wait to explore places because it always puts you in that stupid battle system.

Well.... I love both series and both are classics. They are very similar in some ways. Final Fantasy takes dedication and Zelda is a interesting game everytime you pick it up. But final Fantasy has the well defined combat system. it isnt fair to say which is better.
I'm going with Zelda. 1) Zelda has done more for gaming, it crated targeting with the Z-target. 2) while the overall structure of the story is the same each time (save Zelda!) it's always intresting how Link saves Zelda. In FF, THEY ARE ALL DIFFERANT STORYS! just with the Final Fantasy name on them. 3) same with the gameplay, the formula is the same each game, but it's a formula that works. In final fatasy, they had to change the formula all together to be fun. So I say Zelda.
I prefer final fantasy cause you can make your characters grows, find hundred of weapon, lots of sidequest and always a ultimate optional boss.
In zelda you have what... 3 sword or so lol, 3 shield, some mask, bomb, boomerang... its funny rigth but its just for burning some times. Each Final Fantasy have a great story and if 1 of the story disgust you well... theres like 15 others final fantasy at your disposition. In zelda, if you dont like the story well... your dead.

The franchise does feature some great CGI but Uematsu is not even close to Koji Kondo's masterpieces. Its way too easy to throw a choir and play any random composition using violins... Anything will sound great on this ocasion but nothing is memorable. Nothing. FF fans are dumbasses for not understanding this. Its not all about doing dumb erratic orchestrations but about having what to play.

Everyone in this world recognizes the notes for Super Mario Bros. as soon as they're played. Wanna listen to some truely infectious orchestrated videogame tunes? Go listen to Mario Galaxy's OST. Even Monster Hunter Tri features a better/more suitable OST. I like my videogames memorable. Thank you.

@cadaverr I love the Galaxy OST. It's on my ipod. But the original songs in that are not written by Kondo. But FF isn't meant to be catchy, its a different style, I really like it though.

Kondo's work is great, but Uematsu is -much- better IMO.

Same with FF4, no main characters were like that, except maybe Edward at first, who wasn't a huge character anyway.
In fact... none of those games had emo/whiny main characters.
A couple careless at first, like Cloud/Squall, but not -emo-.
And Zidane/Tidus were positive the majority of the time.

I haven't played much of 9 at all, but of what I did he was always happy, and when I watched a Let's Play of most of the game, he wasn't emo apart from that one scene when he starts to break down and "Not Alone" plays. But anyway, moving on.
Can't we just agree both Series are awesome? Even if you don't like FF or whatever, that's fine. And I do like Zelda. So yeah.

THE LEGEND AND ZELDA , combat style is better.

well legand of zelda is an amazing series but FF is good too but I think that FF wins this cuz the graphics in the new games like FF 9,10,11,and 12 are better in graphics but i cant really decide till I try FF 13

ZELDA!!!!! Do I need to explain my self? Well is the first game and only game that has me saying "WHOA!!!!!!!!!!!" And no other game has since till this day, and that was 10 years ago. And the only reason that I bought the wii was because of TP. Now I don't have a wii, I sold it off, but bet yours ass that I will get the wii again if they make another zelda which they will.

Zelda wins becuase its more recent games have actually been GOOD.
Final Fantasy's have been horrible. Please don't lecture me about X, X2, and XII having the best story you've ever seen. I don't care. They still suck in every other aspect.
At least Zelda can evolve into something beautiful over time. FF evolves into something ugly and horrible. (The first 6 were amazing, but it went down hill after VII).

Fianl fantasy has more realistic character development (zelda has none at all) WAAAAY better music, graphics and gaming experience. When finishing a FF game (mostley 7-9) you feel like you just come out of the cinema. Playing FF is an experience not just a game.

more freedom on zelda games and better action, in final fantasy the combat really bored me i hate the turn base combat specially when fighting little pathetic monsters,thankfully that was fix a bit on FF12 but you still got to wait to hit the monster,one thing i can tell you i like about FF were the excellent cutscenes and the story was quite intersting at times like the one in FF10

Reason for me not liking Zelda...i hate that wizardly crap and it just seems unappealing but thats just me and i thought ff had alot of action in its first games all the way to ff8.

Zelda by farrrr i never got into finaly fantasy i just liked the 7th one.. the rest i didint enjoy then they fucked up the english ones cuz all the ones we were playing were like ff 456 when we were playing 123 then randomly came out with 7? that pissed me off but with Zelda it was normal. i like Zelda a whole lot better mostly cuz turn based games arent my thing..

I have to go with Zelda, but the boss monsters are way too easy after you figure out how you kill them.
Final Fantasy is a bit of random so it's hard to tell what move will come next.
Still I'd prefer Zelda. Final Fantasy doesn't suck at all, I like both games :3

I cant stand final fantasy, its always some sappy love story and the battle system always makes you have to stop and pick out attacks. Zelda on the other hand lets you explore the vast world of Hyrule and let you do things your way. final fantasy makes you wait to explore places because it always puts you in that stupid battle system.

Well.... I love both series and both are classics. They are very similar in some ways. Final Fantasy takes dedication and Zelda is a interesting game everytime you pick it up. But final Fantasy has the well defined combat system. it isnt fair to say which is better.

I'm going with Zelda. 1) Zelda has done more for gaming, it crated targeting with the Z-target. 2) while the overall structure of the story is the same each time (save Zelda!) it's always intresting how Link saves Zelda. In FF, THEY ARE ALL DIFFERANT STORYS! just with the Final Fantasy name on them. 3) same with the gameplay, the formula is the same each game, but it's a formula that works. In final fatasy, they had to change the formula all together to be fun. So I say Zelda.

I prefer final fantasy cause you can make your characters grows, find hundred of weapon, lots of sidequest and always a ultimate optional boss.
In zelda you have what... 3 sword or so lol, 3 shield, some mask, bomb, boomerang... its funny rigth but its just for burning some times. Each Final Fantasy have a great story and if 1 of the story disgust you well... theres like 15 others final fantasy at your disposition. In zelda, if you dont like the story well... your dead.

ff had the best game ff tactics (ps1 not gba) but.... everything else after #6 was overated anime crap (especially 7) and they forced me to by crud from another co. to enjoy all my fav. games when they moved to sony and loz never drifted away from its original fans.... zelda gets my vote (zelda FTW!)

All Zelda games are based from the original legenmd, Ocarina of Time, which is a much better game even though the graphics are from 1997.

How can you compare the 2 series there completely different genres its like comparing Halo to Madden 07 or Resident Evil to Mario, you cant really compare games like that, but all things aside Zelda hands down. Also i cant say that Twilight Princess is better than Orcarina ill say there equal becuz Orcarina was a LEGEND.

Both series make me laugh! Both series have made me cry! Both series i've played all the games hours on end! Both series are FREAKING AWESOME! I've never really thought about putting the 2 against each other...I like to say that Final Fantasy is my favorite game, however, zelda is right there with it. I can't decide!
