Yeah, most Filipinos are very blunt about gaining weight. They would tell you straight forward that you're fat or you've gained so much weight. They would tell you like "UY! TUMABA KA!" This usually occurs in Filipino parties or reunion.

Omg I really relate with the "fat" remarks they say. I went home to the Philippines recently in January and they would say "wow you're still really chubby", very blunt & very forward. It gets a little bit annoying. :/ honestly I'm not even fat. I would say I'm average. Lol If they want to see fat, they should come to America. Lol

I am white but I am married and have a baby with a Filipino man and I HATE that all of the Filipino's talk about everyones weight... I find it very rude and hurtful. At first I thought the kids would find excuses like "oh its part of our culture"... or "they don't mean anything by it, its just how they are" but in all honesty, they are human and they know it hurts your feelings.
