1 year ago I discovered this band. Two days ago, I went to their concert and had the privilege to meet them in person, talk to them and take pictures. They are great and were totally above my expectations! They are very friendly, funny and down to earth! 'April Rain' is a good album. Some songs do sound very Nightwish-like though, but not as complex or dark as Nightwish. Especially some intros...

Nonetheless, Delain is a good band, but not yet at the top of their game. I think their next album will be even better.

This band was not only heavily influenced by Nightwish, their studio recordings in 2006, 2008, and 2009 had Marco Hietala of Nightwish on bass and backup vocals

I agree that they're good, and will get much better, and I look forward to hearing them as they develop (maybe see them play with NW or Sonata Arctica some time? :D)

I love Evenescence, so I searched for similar bands and found Delain, and I now can't stop listening to Delain's album "April Rain". If you like these two bands, listen to Within Temptation. I bought their album "The Heart of Everything" and love it too... I know that I shouldn't , but I blast these into my head from my iPod because that's the best way to enjoy the bass.

Delain's Vox is better than Sirenia.

Sirenia has better backup samples though.

Both use pop-based chord progressions, metal instrumentation and symphonic mastering though, so they're both more or less the same.
