IS THIS SWEET RIDE FOR SALE , IF NOT I WOULD LIKE TO BUILD MY 70 COUPE DEVILE WOULD YOU DO THE MOTOR ? THE STANDARD OF THE WORLD WHEN GOING FAST i AM 61 BUT STILL HAVE NOT LOST MY DRIVE!!!
This is one cool Eldo! I have a '70 Cadillac 500 engine from an Eldo that's going nto a '67 Olds F85 2 door sedan later this winter with a TH400 and a Chevy 12 bolt rear with a 3.73 posi.
nice car man i just missed out on 68 eldorado just $900 it was gone in a second the motor was perfect so was the trans it needed paint and couple little things im just hopeing it didnt go to the demo derby because there hurting for old cars ...but anyways im puting a 455 410 hp oldsmobile motor in my 1984 cadillac sedan deville diesel (the diesel quit at 230,000 miles) now that i see your realy cool car it boosted me to get my car done thanks........
You do realize the motor is pushing 2 tons at 6secs 0-60 right? - What do you got a Z28? I see at least a dozen Z's when i go to a carshow. If i wanted to pop 9's at the track or wheelies I would drop this 514 in a Gremlin. It's not about the car, it's ALL about the motor. what do you got in your Z28? - torque in this motor would twist your frame, or can a Z frame withstand 628 ft lbs? Knock of the teenie bopper girlie gansta talk & ima drop some ebonics on you: "kick me some knowledge nigga"
@Azurean88 Wow ur 1 of da first People who realized im actually GANGSTA..Yes yes indeed...It has a Tricked 427 Engine...When i first bought it it was putting out 435 Horse now its way more den dat cuz i sunk thousands of Special parts inta it.Its Upgraded basically now....Weather i like ur car or not at least it is Fast.
@Azurean88 btw cool car man ive been looking for a cadillac project...i was also considering putting a cad 500 in my el camino, but cheaper to stroke 454 unless i can find an already running motor
In the era of green douchemobiles, let us begin the old school Cadillac revolution. I just got my 1973 Eldorado as present for finishing my graduate degree. It's almost in mint shape. I am thinking about getting some electronic ignition and fuel injection. I am hoping to make some compadres that can give me tips about turning 500 into a weapon of mass(ive) destruction. Hit me up if you want to shoot the shiyite.
i have a 74 hondo jet boat with a 500ci caddy with a 268h comp cam was looking for a higher rise intake and maybe some rollerrockers. do you know where i can get some go fast parts
to late man the caddy motor didnt hold up over reved it and did some damage so im building a rat motor parts are easier and cheaper to find but thanks anyway
I have a 1998 Buick Century, a 1989 Volvo 760 turbo, AND a 1975 Chevelle, but I'd swap 'em ALL for this Caddy. Yea...check my video of the 413 Chevelle here on YouTube. It's not for grandma at 10.42@131MPH. That lil ole band from Texas didn't sing about any Chevy's...they sang about easin' down the highway in a new Cadillac. Feels so jealous...signs out to go pout.
thank yo so xxxxxxxxi adore seville caddy xoxox im an american !!!!!!!!! when back home as im on tour in Europe i will take ur honor word xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
If you know anything about FWD vehicles, the TH425 tranny makes the motor sit higher than RWD setups. stock cast iron intake makes fuel flow up against gravity to get to the cylinders & that had 1/2 inch of clearance from the hood. The hood had to get cut G, there was no other option unless i want to leave the cast iron stock intake & nix about 150hp as a result. Aesthetics aside i seek function over such brah..
A slight hood buldge like a cowl induction would've looked much better.
Caddy intakes were like that for the AC compresser. I'm sure you've heard of MTS (Maximum Torque Specialties)very well known for 472/500 high performance builds. They can port stockers to match Edelbrocks offering. It's not so much the port direction as it is flow capability. 150 from an intake ;-) Ok sure!
"G", "brah", if I'd have know what I was dealing with before hand I wouldn't have wasted our time commenting Sorry G
That was beyond awesome! I just bought a 1970 Cadillac Deville convertible with a 472 V8 and would to hot rod it too. Yes, fuzzy dice is almost manditory with these behemoths. :-)
I had to go outand buy a '70 Eldo (I collect GM E-bodies: '63,'73,'76Riv, '78 Toro, and now, a '70 Eldo from a race car-engine builder!!!). What sililarities!
If at some point I want to do some performance mod's to the engine, can you do to mine, what you did to yours?
For me, the 67-70 Eldorado's styling, refinement, and build quality were unmatched for its day, and I've never understood why these cars don't seem to get the respect today that they deserve. It looks like Cadillac is finally trying to bring back this styling and excitement in its newest cars. In any case, I'm impressed with how you've upped the performance while maintaining the class of this superb vehicle.
Let me guess here... i should have dropped the motor in a mustang, chevelle, GTO, camaro or a firebird like the generic motorhead does eh?... Or you are kid that owns a Honda with a loud muffler & some ground effects so your a badass now.. Beside the fact i preffer older Cadillacs i find it far more impressive when a "fucking boat made for roads" is able to beat a "lighter" fiberglass Corvette in a drag race.. Go home to daddy and ask him to buy you an Subaru, you got no clue flyboy!
that's awesome what you did!!!!! you took a grandpa's cadillac and made it to a road demon :)!! that's cool cuz i dont see anything like this everyday! THAT IS THE ULTIMATE SLEEPER :)... for me the cadillac of cadillacs is the 1959 eldorado. it's one of the icons of the 1950's america. again nice ride!!!

what was the stock hp on this model?
Ronsky89 3 years ago
375 hp on the 500 cu. 325 on the stock 472 cu
PatrickMace 2 years ago
Stock horsepower (the factory gross rating) for the 1970 Cadillac was:
500-cu-in: 400 hp and 550 lbs/ft torque
472-cu-in: 375 hp and 525 lbs/ft torque
The 1969 was available with the 472 engine only rated at the same 375 hp and 525 lbs/ft torque.

Pretty nice. Did a similar 500 build up for my old '77 Fleetwood Brougham.
Only think I don't like is the hood scoop, looks like shit on a Caddy. Barf-o-rama. Dump it, fix the hood and keep the sleeper image.
