I used to criticize Ms. Underwood for going overboard on remaking every classic in Rock, Country and Contemporary. Lol. But now she has such a body of work? You can't help but say she's just a great singer and beautiful person. Not that I never thought she wasn't? But I'm more cautious with young talent. And She's held up 5 years later she's AWESOME!

@lgwo6 rustydevill meant real american idol. Meaning, a person who has the talent, and a person who is a true being. Carrie has a wonderful personality. In 2007 idol gives back, she was in africa helping the poor. She supports various charities and humanitarian orgs. Plus, she's a vegetarian.
Carrie is amazing, but I will say that when Kelly sang Up to the Mountain it just kinda set the bar too high for anyone else performing to reach, don't get me wrong though .. Carrie is awesome.

@TheKristiina umm, I don't know how you didn't see the emotion in her singing, but anyway, how about we stop comparing the artists and just appreciate each one for who they are. Of course Carrie Underwood can't compare to George Michael because she is nothing like him... It's kind of like comparing an opera singer and a rap singer...doesn't work. Personally, I like both versions.

I used to criticize Ms. Underwood for going overboard on remaking every classic in Rock, Country and Contemporary. Lol. But now she has such a body of work? You can't help but say she's just a great singer and beautiful person. Not that I never thought she wasn't? But I'm more cautious with young talent. And She's held up 5 years later she's AWESOME!

I don't know I find her voice irritating to the ear with all her acrobatic vocal stunts.
I find the original, which is George Michael, of course, more soothing and just fits to this song.

The problem with Kelly is for a while there she forgot where she came from when she wouldn't allow American Idol to use her songs. Carrie has always been grateful for American idol and always seems to thank them when she wins an award

@lgwo6 Kelly is the exact opposite. She even fired her guitarist on stage. Talk about respect for fellow musician. Carrie treats her band like a family. Kelly has one of the worst personalities ever. But I won't deny that she is very talented.

@lgwo6 rustydevill meant real american idol. Meaning, a person who has the talent, and a person who is a true being. Carrie has a wonderful personality. In 2007 idol gives back, she was in africa helping the poor. She supports various charities and humanitarian orgs. Plus, she's a vegetarian.
