  • guys dont fight here....Jesus wont like if we fight in his presence.

    @KATAERO1

I agree with you all the way brother.

    @TheTexanCanadian

you have your rights and beliefs, but please dont come and put it up here. These songs are for those who believe and those who want to believe.

  • @joshac15 Please, pray for TexanCanadian's salvation. The Lord has used me to bring at least one person in Thailand and the other one in New Zealand to Himself within a 4-years period since I've become a "born again" Christian. Both are "on fire" for the Lord to use them to bring others to Himself with amazing results. The one in Thailand became a missionary, ministering to the poor, the needy & the homeless, witnessing the Lord's miracles on a daily basis. God bless, my brother in Christ.

  • @KATAERO1

    @joshac15

    "Please, pray for TexanCanadian's salvation."

I'd prefer you think about the reasonable, scientifically justified and ultimately correct arguments I've presented, rather than waste time doing something so meaningless as praying. If your god does indeed exist, he's going to do what he wants anyway, there's no point in praying, especially when I as a "sinning" atheist who does not accept that your god exists at all am actually destined for eternal torture as a result.

  • @joshac15

"guys dont fight here....Jesus wont like if we fight in his presence."

This has never been a fight, since when is a calm, thoughtful conversation a fight? That's the same sort of false accusation as that I am angry or offended in some way just because I have the courage to speak out against religion.

As for what Jesus would or wouldn't like, if he is indeed all-powerful and all-knowing, he loves all of his creations no matter what, right?

  • im here for the message

  • I don't understand the concept of salvation. I can understand the emotional need to have a god, that I get, but salvation is just too much. Salvation from what, exactly?

Also, the goodness of the lord is not exactly evident in the bible, I've looked, and there is far too much brutality ordered by god to consider him good. Can anyone explain how he's good considering the things he's done which anyone else would be evil for doing?

  • @TheTexanCanadian Salvation implies something went terribly wrong & need to be made right. The Bible which I believe to be the Word of God, said in Genesis that God created all things, including the 1st human couple. God called everything He created, including them, "Very Good." The Bible also said that 1st human couple were tempted by Satan (a fallen archangel) & they disobeyed the only commandment given to them. As a result, their offsprings-us were born in sin. (con)

  • @TheTexanCanadian (con) If you think life is not fair, this is it. But what can you do, since you're born with the sin of your distant parents many, many generation ago? However, God in His loving kindness & mercy sent His only begotten Son to salvage us from our own sins, both from what we're born with & that which we pile on later & continue to do so at the present time & in the future that we're yet to do so. (con)

  • @TheTexanCanadian (con)In the OT, God ordered the Israelites to exterminate certain exceeding wicked people who once lived in Canaan, the Canaanites. His purpose was to preserve the Israelites from being defiled by their exceedingly wickedness, so He could send His only Son to be born among them. The OT also recorded plenty of brutality being committed by man to his fellow man. His Son, Jesus was also subjected to that brutality & in the process, made everything that was wrong, right again.

  • @TheTexanCanadian (con) The Bible said God created man in His "image," according to "His likeness." So, whatever we are, God is infinitely greater. Man is capable of a wide range of emotions, you know, love, hatred, disappointment, kindness, rage, mercy, etc. So, in my humble opinion, whenever God experience certain emotion, His is off our chart & into infinity. Because of Jesus, everything in the past is done & paid for by Him, who is the full representation of who His Father is. (con)

  • @TheTexanCanadian (con) Now, if you want to know who God is, you can look at the life of Jesus from His birth, execution, everything in between & of course, His resurrection from the dead. I know Jesus exists, is real & who He said He was in the Bible, the almighty God & He loves you. Jesus said "Behold, the kingdom of God is within you & if with all your heart you truly seek Me, you will ever surely find Me." So, it's all up to you whether you want to be saved by Jesus Christ. God bless...

  • @KATAERO1

So according to Christian doctrine, nothing happens that is not according to your god's will, and your god created both man, our supposed free will (which isn't actually free will, but that's beside the point), and the system by which man is judged and punished. As such, the Christian god then sent his son to be punished for something he himself did in the first place, to correct a loophole created by something his divine perfect plan didn't account for? Pretty shaky.

  • @TheTexanCanadian Can you blame God for creating a capacity to sin? In fact, sin is the byproduct of free will. If there is no free will, there will be no sin. If God created us like robots to worship Him 5 times a day, sin wouldn't exist, right? But do you want God to create you like a robot? I've been asking myself this question. With God's infinite power, why does He want to create us, give us our free will & hope that we will use it to seek Him & be reunited with Him for eternity?

  • @KATAERO1

And as modern scientific discoveries are proving, free will does not exist, not in the way that the bible would require.

And even so, let's just grant that he is real, and also grant that he gave us the biblical definition of free will, neither of which has any evidence. He punished what amounted to a pair of children who didn't understand the consequences of their actions, and every successive child for the rest of eternity, for something they didn't know they were doing.

  • @TheTexanCanadian Can you tell me how science discoveries are proving, free will doesn't exist, not in the way that the Bible would require?

Adam & Eve were not children but full-grown, intelligent adults. I think they knew full well what they were doing, according to the Bible. So, your assumption is not correct.

  • @TheTexanCanadian

    Cont'd.

Let us also not forget that that human descent from apes by way of evolution has been proven conclusively, so the existence of Adam and Eve is purely as part of a parable anyway. Even so, the message fails horribly.

  • @TheTexanCanadian "If pressed about man's ancestry, I would have to unequivocally say that all we have is a huge question mark. To date, there has been nothing found to truthfully purport as a transitional species to man, including Lucy...If further pressed, I would have to state that there is more evidence to suggest an abrupt arrival of man rather than a gradual process of evolving." (Richard Leaky, the world 's foremost paleoanthropologist, in a PBS documentary, 1999)

  • @KATAERO1

    watch?v=BXdQRvSdLAs

This is several years newer than your 1999 quote, and keep in mind please, that one person's quote of opinion has nothing to do with the evidence which might disagree with that person's opinion, and also keep in mind that paleoanthropology is not biology or genetics.

  • @TheTexanCanadian I met Jesus about 4 yrs ago & that's why I know He exists, is real, who He said He was in the Bible. So He definitely rose from the dead, and as a result, I left the religion of my fathers & our ancestors, Buddhism, to become a follower of Jesus Christ. Yes, I was born again, like countless number of people, ranging from scientist like Dr Collins, ordinary people like me & terrorists, like Kamal Saleem, or Mosab Hassan Yousef, the son of the founder of Hamas.

  • @KATAERO1

"that's why I know He exists, is real, who He said He was in the Bible. "

See this is a common mistake, you have faith, not knowledge. Faith is believing something without a good reason. I don't mean it isn't a good reason for you, I'm sure you feel that it is, it's just not good enough for me.

The only argument that theists have in the debate is that their personal experience led them their conclusion, but that reason is only good enough for them.

  • @TheTexanCanadian Everybody knows Microevolution (evolution within the same species) is true, but Macroevolution (from one species to another) is not even close of being proven true, according to the current fossil record.

And does anybody know how the 1st cell came into being? Can dirt turn itself into life all on its own? Evolution said nothing about that at all, didn't it? What's about DNA, a quadruple digital information system, compared to our binary digital one in our electronics?

  • @KATAERO1

"but Macroevolution (from one species to another) is not even close of being proven true"

    That's just patently untrue.

"And does anybody know how the 1st cell came into being?"

How it could happen naturally has been demonstrated, yes.

"Evolution said nothing about that at all, didn't it? "

Evolution and biogenesis are not the same thing.

    "a quadruple digital information system"

DNA being Information is inaccurate. It's a string of molecules.

  • @TheTexanCanadian OK, so with all of our scientific & technological knowhow, can any scientist turn dirt into that 1st cell yet? If not, why not?

So, if DNA an analog or a digital system?

Besides Francis S. Collins of National Human Genome Research Institute, there are countless scientists today who believe in God, like Joan Centrella of Gravitational Astrophysics Laboratory, NASA, or John Wyatt of University College London Hospital, and etc...

  • @KATAERO1

We've moved now into either issues that you haven't studied up on enough to form a reasonable conclusion from the evidence or simply repeating arguments I've already discounted, such as there being many people who have faith but that their faith doesn't mean that it is justified simply because they have it.

single celled organisms formed into multi-cellular organisms which formed into larger multi-cellular organisms which eventually became complex enough to be called life.

  • @TheTexanCanadian OK, so how that single cell came into existence? In 2004, the atheist world was shocked when famed British atheist Antony Flew suddenly announced that he believed in the existence of God. For decades he had heralded the cause of atheism. It was the incredible complexity of DNA that opened his eyes. (con)

  • @TheTexanCanadian (con) In recent interview, Flew stated, "It now seems to me that findings of more than 50 yrs of DNA research have provided materials for a new & enormously powerful argument to design." Flew also renounced naturalistic theories of evolution. "It has become inordinately difficult even to begin to think about constructing a naturalistic theory of the evolution of that 1st reproducing organism. (Rich Deem, "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest?")

  • @KATAERO1

You just keep throwing argument from authority fallacies at me, they don't mean anything.

  • @TheTexanCanadian I just keep throwing the truth at you, OK? There is simply much more evidence supporting the existence of God of the Bible than otherwise, with science & testimonies of those who believe in Him. You choose not to believe in Him, despite mountain of evidence, right?

  • @TheTexanCanadian (con) In Flew's own words, he simply "had to go where the evidence leads." He added, "...it seems to me that the case for an Aristotelian God who has the characteristic of power & also intelligence, is now much stronger then it ever as before."

  • @TheTexanCanadian "When you have for the 1st time in front of you this 3.1-billion-letter instruction book that conveys all kinds of information and all kinds of mystery about humankind, you can't survey that going through page after page without a sense of awe. I can't help but look at those pages and have a vague sense that this is giving me a glimpse of God's mind." (Steven Swinford, "I've found God, says man who cracked the genome," June 11, 2006)

I hope you know who Dr Collins is.

  • @KATAERO1

I know full well who Francis Collins is, and again, faith is not proof.

  • @KATAERO1

    Cont'd.

People had faith in Egyptian pharoahs and people had faith in Kim Jong Il, and people had faith in the Norse gods as well. It means nothing to anyone except the person who has faith.

  • @TheTexanCanadian People feared the Egyptian pharaohs & Kim Jong Il, who could make their lives utterly miserable or even killing them. Unless you equate fear with faith, of course.

Aren't you curious why former countless blood-thirsty, murderous Islamic terrorists like those I mentioned, risked their lives by leaving Islam to become followers of Jesus Christ? From haters & murderers of Jews, they became Jew's best friends. Can science do that?

  • @KATAERO1

"Unless you equate fear with faith, of course."

I do not equate the two, however many people are only believers in a god because of fear of hell. Also, while those people did make the earthly existence of their followers miserable, gods just promise eternal misery in the afterlife.

    "Can science do that?"

Science can't do that, but human nature can.

  • @TheTexanCanadian Can you tell me where in the Bible that "gods just promise eternal misery in the afterlife?"

The kingdom of God is here & now, once as soon as you become "born again" in Jesus Christ.

Can you show me where human nature did that? Science or human nature has made Iran to become the world's latest nuclear power, do you think it can make Iranians love the Jews as their best friends?

  • @KATAERO1

"The kingdom of God is here & now, once as soon as you become "born again" in Jesus Christ."

And the penalty for not being convinced that there is a god, and deciding that you will not worship one, i.e. reject salvation?

What I meant by human nature is a desire to live in peace, comfort and to have empathy for those you consider your equals and thus live in harmony with them. In the world today, nothing (to include with Iran & Israel) is more harmful to that than religion.

  • @TheTexanCanadian If you choose not to believe in God, you won't be born again and won't end up in His heavenly kingdom, that's all? If you can't stand Him here & now, why do you want to spend an eternity with Him? Or do you rather want Him to drag you into His heavenly kingdom against your will? Think about it!

My native country of Thailand is tearing itself apart as we speak, because of human nature (in Buddhism) minus the Love of God, OK?

  • @KATAERO1

"My native country of Thailand is tearing itself apart as we speak, because of human nature (in Buddhism) minus the Love of God, OK?"

Religious war, yet again. Has nothing to do with human nature.

  • @TheTexanCanadian No, it's not the religious war because both sides, the Yellow Shirts (Middle Class Minority) & the Red Shirts (Majority Poor) are both atheistic Buddhists, who belong to the same Buddhist denomination. And as you well know, Buddhism is based on the virtues of human nature, as you described earlier, but when proverbial shit hit the fan, they all became extremely violent in hurting & killing one another. Did you know that Thailand is the largest Buddhist country in the world?

  • @KATAERO1

Whether you want to accept it or not, it is a religious war.

  • @TheTexanCanadian Buddhists in Thailand worship money, power & pride, so you might be right about "religious war" thing.

    a) How did your parent have you? Did they also knit you in your mother's womb cell by cell, all tens of trillion of cells in your body?

    b) I would be really surprised if you can answer this one.

    c) Same as b).

The moment you become "born again," you will know all these 3 answers & that's the ultimate freedom, my friend, to be free from sin & death.

  • @KATAERO1

"a) How did your parent have you? Did they also knit you in your mother's womb cell by cell, all tens of trillion of cells in your body?"

Would you like references to a good site on human biology?

"b) I would be really surprised if you can answer this one."

I just did. For objective morality to exist, a god would have to be proven to exist, one that is not prone to fits of rage and genocide.

    "c) Same as b)."

I gave the only honest answer that exists.

  • @TheTexanCanadian a) I think it's about DNA sequences, all 3.1 billion of them. b) That's why He came 2012 yrs ago. Is that enough proof for you? c) So do I & I appreciate your honesty.

Is sin an illusion? Do you know why we die? The Bible said death was not part of God's original Creation but is the consequence of the original sin by Adam & Eve (life is not fair thing). Jesus couldn't die because He didn't commit any sin but did so for 3 days to kill our sins for good.

  • @KATAERO1

    a) and since DNA has been building over billions of years, it would logically be a very long chain of molecules.

    b) If you can prove when he was born, you'd be the first, as there are conflicting dates in the bible. Want to try that again?

    c) I really don't know what happens after we die, but there are no valid reasons to think we continue existing.

Actually according to the bible, Jesus did sin, broke his own rules and the rules of the Old Testament on several occasions.

  • @TheTexanCanadian a) You haven't told me whether DNA is an analog (chemistry) or digital (information system). b) So far, a guy named Rick Larson has come the closest in proving the existence of the Star of Bethlehem. He bought a commercially available astronomical computer program & decided to turn it back about 2,000 yrs just for fun & the program recreated in the ancient sky over Israel in great details, telling its own story of Jesus conception, birth & death. (con)

  • @KATAERO1

    A) How could DNA be possibly anything but chemical in nature?

    b) Even if a person could prove a star (which this person can not, otherwise it would be world-breaking news) that does nothing to prove the divinity of Jesus.

    c) Life only has meaning that we assign to it, either through creating religions or accept social contracts to interact peaceably with others.

"Can you tell me how Jesus broke His own rules of the OT on several occasions?"

Haven't you read your bible? I have.

  • @TheTexanCanadian (con) So, why don't you check it out for yourself on Youtube? Watch "The STAR part 1/3," then let me know what you think about it, OK?

    c) This is what it is all about, the deepest question of the meaning of life.

Can you tell me how Jesus broke His own rules of the OT on several occasions? He rose from the dead on the 3rd as He said, which in itself a self evidence that He is sinless & who He said He was, the almighty God. God bless...

  • @KATAERO1

"you will know all these 3 answers & that's the ultimate freedom, my friend, to be free from sin & death."

Sin is an illusion, biology disproves Adam and Eve and having faith in a god doesn't mean you have knowledge which would count as rational answers to those questions.

  • @TheTexanCanadian I fully agree with you that nothing is more harmful to any regions or countries than religion. For example Buddhism is tearing my native country of Thailand apart as we speak. However, Christianity (based on the Bible) is not a religion, but a personal relationship with God through faith in His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. It's either you have it or you don't with nothing in between. And if you want to experience Jesus Christ in your life, I can certainly help.

  • @KATAERO1

"However, Christianity (based on the Bible) is not a religion"

That's just not true. Religion is a faith-based set of beliefs in which one worships a god or gods.

"but a personal relationship with God "

And you can demonstrate that you're not just hallucinating? Because if you can't demonstrate that your god exists, your belief that you have a personal relationship with someone is actually just in your mind.

  • @TheTexanCanadian That was exactly my immediate concern after my "born again" experience. However, a few days later, my girlfriend in BKK had exactly the same experience. She is the youngest child in a wealthy Chinese-Thai family, who was born with great wealth & use to be highly materialistic as a result. She is now a missionary in Thailand ministering to the homeless, poor & the needy. She was the one who wanted me to talk to you here. Do you want to talk to her?

  • @KATAERO1

"Do you want to talk to her?"

Why would I talk to her?

  • @TheTexanCanadian Between Creation & Evolution, which theory do you think is more capable of explaining: a) How the universe began, b) How life came from nonlife & c) How we got such diversity of life?

On a personal level, do you know: a) How you're born into this (crazy) world, b) Who or what you're supposed to be living for & c) What will happen when your body expires? Jesus said, "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." Do you want to be free, my friend?

  • @KATAERO1

"a) How you're born into this (crazy) world"

    My parents had me.

"b) Who or what you're supposed to be living for"

    That's a matter of opinion.

"c) What will happen when your body expires?"

No, and neither does anyone else.

"Do you want to be free, my friend?"

    Free of? Free from? What?

  • @TheTexanCanadian Please, watch "Father's Love Letter, HQ" on Youtube, to see how much God love you & want to have fellowship with you. Do you want to have a fellowship with Him? What do you say, my friend?

  • @KATAERO1

I do not accept that he exists, and the Christian doctrine is too immoral for me to even consider as something I would want. I could never worship a god, even if he DID exist, who has committed such atrocities and yet is supposed to be perfect. It's nonsense.

There is no argument which explains why a god who supposedly did the things that are written in the bible is worthy of being called good.

  • @TheTexanCanadian I can careless of what you think. My job here is to tell you all about the Good News of my personal Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ. Whether you want to receive His gift of salvation & eternal life or not is all up to you. God created everything, including you, so I guess He own you too, like it or not. So, I guess my job here is done, as I've answered many of your questions. Anyway, if you decide to change your mind, which I hope you will, you know what to do. God bless...

  • @KATAERO1

    Cont'd.

It would be comparable to taking a two year old and a choice that they made to defy your orders and punishing them and any successive offspring for the rest of eternity, simply for disobeying. It's not exactly something a good god would do.

  • @TheTexanCanadian I think the legendary rocket scientist put it best:

"Scientific concepts exist only in the minds of men. Behind these concepts lies the reality which is being revealed to us, but only by the grace of God."

    -Wernher Von Braun-

  • @KATAERO1

Yes, there have been many scientists throughout history that also believed in a god, it means nothing.

  • @TheTexanCanadian If you bother to look it up, you will find that a vast majority of scientific discoveries were the works of scientists who believe in God. So, let see what the Father of Modern Medicine said about God.

"A little science estranges men from God, but much science leads them back to Him."

    --Louis Pasteur--

  • @KATAERO1

Granted, in the past most people in general were religious, either theistic or deistic. That does nothing to prove the proposition that a god exists, nor does it change the fact that the vast majority of scientists in the world today are not religious.

  • @gjgcsse7 Sad, to read the loss of your parents. And if you find consololation in a god. Fine .Who can argue with success even if it comes from a placebo. Where was this consoling god when your parents were dying. Did they have to die, so that he might be able to console you ? A good psychiatrist or "grief counseling" could have given you the same acceptance of your loss. Take heart.

  • @mattm0183 This song was written by Fellowship Church in Grapevine and is from their CD titled- THE EVERLASTING- by FC Creative. (Available on Itunes). Many churches are singing this song right now, and I think Andy's version of it is really great...though I am partial to the original version that Hope Adams does. And COTM is equally awesome.
