  • 4:26 that part is more violent than GTA...

  • Wish I had a sega saturn. Then I could get the best version of the original game on it.

  • had a saturn as a kid, i played the hell out of this game.

  • the sound effects in the Saturn are more high pitched than the Playstation version.

  • @qmto Yeah when Rayman gets hurt it sounds like he hasn't reached puberty or he's been inhaling helium... XD

  • what?! I didn't know you could use his hair as propellers.. -__-

  • on dirait que certain bruitage son plus aigus comparer a la version ps1

  • this game is identical to the PlayStation version, i hope Rayman origins is so good as the first rayman game :)

  • At 3:36 I like how it cuts right at a fail...

  • This is BEAUTIFUL compared to my GBA version... Yet it's so similar... It's just... Rain and snow effects, menu animations, and the music...

  • Wow the memories !

  • I love how he just straight up walks everywhere.

  • @coreymitchelhoulden are you talking about Justin Bieber walking everywhere

  • this was one of the first computergames i've ever had. the new Rayman's are bullshit but this one was great. ;)

  • i agree that the level music sounds better than the playstation version but the sound effects of the creatures are rly dumb compared to playstation. rayman sounds like a baby when he gets hurt on this version and there's a lot more high-pitched noises as if all the sounds got fastforwarded for this version. Rayman's my favorite game evar tho so i'm still going to buy it when i get my saturn

  • Those high-pitched sounds are annoying

  • @MuratArkin they're not as high pitched on the playstation version tho :D

  • i just L♥♥♥♥VE this game!!! :)

  • The intro is different , and the screen looks bigger and Rayman looks smaller

  • I prefer this one over the other versions.. (The final boss background is beautiful in this version)

  • this was one of the hardest games for me back when i was young. wtf the times i wiped here , i stopped counting

  • fuck me the memories lol

  • I've never been able to beat this game

  • I love this game. I still have it, and every few years I pull it out to play it again. It just never gets old. However, even after 10+ years of playing it, I still haven't been able to reach Mr. Dark. In fact, there was one cage that was covered by rows of spikes that I could never reach, and it still frustrates me to this day.

  • this is a game i've only played once in my life, WAY into my childhood. i thought it was REALLY surreal then, and i still do. but MAN. the soundtrack sounds like something i'd love to sleep to :D

  • This reminds me of Sonic (speed) meets Mario (coins and dodging enemies) meets banjo k LOL. 2D processor on the Saturn makes this look GREAT

  • I've got a question about the continues after you died a few times:

Is it impossible to play further, if there are no continues left and only one life left?

  • I had this on the Playstation back in the day. One of my all time favorites, but it's easily the hardest platformer I've ever played. Anyone who beats this deserves a medal.

  • Memorois

  • If you like the original Rayman, you should check out "Astal".

  • @filner what are those blue things he's collecting.

  • @KaramelLolaBunnie91 They're called tings. If you collect 100 of them, you gain an extra life, and they are also used as payment to the magician to access the bonus stages.

  • @filner sweet :D thank you :).

  • Best Rayman version (console-wise, series-wise) EVER.

  • Those falling things were the worst. DX I had the worst time judgment EVER.

  • The PC version had music that went from start to end for each world. So in Music Land, you'd hear the flute music, then the saxophone music, the bongas, the buddhist music etc. all in a row on the same level (if you were on the level long enough).

Does the Genesis version do it? Or have they split up the tracks per level "properly"? From what I can tell from the video they did this.

  • @DaVince21

You mean the Saturn version? No It plays the individual track for each level only. No overplays or anything.

  • @ExtremeBogom Oops, yeah, Saturn. Anyway, at this point I already have the game and thus knew about it. :P But thanks for answering anyway.

  • AMAZING!!!

  • Sega says:

"The Sega Saturn is a 2D powerhouse."

Rayman is proof of this statement by Sega. :D. I want to buy the Sega Saturn version on Ebay now. :D. Lol.

  • Had it on gameboy, sorta liked how he beats the shit out of the bird, then rides it the next level.

  • @steve4123456789 erm it's a moskito not a bird haha

  • the memories came floodin in :P

  • omg its been years since iv played that O_O

can i still download this anywhere? i remember my dad brought me the disk when i was little but i lost it >__< and its the exact same version as this

ahhh i wanna play that againn D:!!

  • @tenshidark7 Now you can, on DSIware.

  • 7:49 I'm stuck at that level

  • @bresher

That level didn't take me more than 2 tries to pass.

Also, another thing that is different, is the color of Rayman's hair when he flies

  • @omsata Oh I see you just keep punching to see what's ahead

  • Rayman before it became a gay mario party wanna be.

  • This version looks and sounds a lot like the PC version. The only difference is the pitch of Rayman's pained gasp, the monster sounds and the color of the spiked berry-like things. (orange instead of the supposed red)

Maybe I'll try to get my hands on this one :)

  • wow , this brings back memories to when me and my father where real close.

  • It is impossible to clear this game whitout one hurt! :O

  • Indeed. It's a very hard game.

  • to excuse and as you do to fly... I don't remember :D

  • This game is very beautiful, I to 6 7 played there. And from a lot of time that I don't play there because the game and too much old man for the new computers. I have seen that to 1:00 there are the water that climbs, as you do to make to grow the plants?? I in that level always lost because I drowned. Then from 4:10 up to 8:38 not him ever seen, do these levels come after the level of the water that climbs??

  • the dark musical place at 2:06 is the best! i love that place!!! & i still have the actual game that was for the ps1!!! it works fine on my ps3 and for the people that want this game that have a ps3, its in the playstation store in the ps1 clasics section. also if you have Little Big Planet play my rayman bongo hills remake & add me. my online ID is inpactkid just like my youtube name.

  • Amazing. I had it when i was little and i recently re-bought it and it still rocks

  • Omg I used to think the PSX was the best version of Rayman!

    Now I want a Saturn

    =(

Except all the SFX are very high pitched for some reason... is this emulated, or is it truly that high on the saturn?

  • it's the real sound from the saturn. I have it.

  • @Jaxxckle Oh wow... but I really don't think it matters...

  • It's useless to buy a Saturn if you only want Rayman on Saturn. But I do it, I've buy Rayman on PS1,PC, Portable (free) and GBA ^^

  • There's more than rayman for what I want for the saturn, I also want bomberman, megaman, and nights

  • PLZ can you do a Playthrough of this version? If you're thinking about doing it then you can do it in parts as in Rayman 1 Sega Saturn Playthrough Part 1, Part 2, Part 3 and so on. You can start the game from scratch (record it from where the Sega Saturn intro starts).

  • There are some small differences from this version to the PS1 version, like Rayman voice is lighter and there are different sounds when things are appearing, Rayman picks something up etc.

  • 1 of the hardest games ever

  • kinda

  • 6:42 that has my favourite music in the Rayman series.

  • when i bought this game for my sega saturn then i know that my saturn was the sh*t back in the day. and that was a long time before panzer dragoon saga when i got that game i was blown away .

  • I like the background at 6:20.

  • Why is it always Sega versions of Rayman games that have the most decorations?

  • Rayman 2 being a great example as well... look at the N64 version compared to the dreamcast version.

  • Sega pwns at Rayman maybe? It might be the latest released?

  • Whoa, weird thing to notice, but I love how he reacts to the slope when he's crawling!

  • This game's difficulty is diabolical.

  • @geoflcl I know. I got the game when I was 6, and I only finished it when I was 12. It took me 6 years to beat!

  • @geoflcl but higly addictive!

  • I always prefered the Saturn version.

  • RESULT!!!!!!!! Rayman also has bue and pink hair in his super helicopter power in the Sega Saturn! COOL BACKGROUNDS!!!!! This version has a cool title screen but the music they put for the title screen is shit!

  • I remember it being such a quality game, but at the same time, also a very VERY hard game to complete!

...Thinking about it, I don't think I ever did manage to complete it! D'oh... :-(

  • i've only play on PC with rayman for ever and rayman 100 levels

  • I've only played the Playstation version, but the Saturn version looks and sounds better.

  • would anyone recommend this game?

  • yea great game one of my favorite platformers but it does get difficult. If u do decide to go get it. Go with either the saturn or the playstation versions as their the best out of all the rest

  • Yupp, i had the sega saturn, but it broke for some time ago, i decided to get the Gameboy advance version, and it sucked monkeyballs, you need some heavy ass light to even see what's happening on that lame ass screen....

Where can i buy an new Saturn, and this game?

  • It's an epic game, promise you;), you'll never experience something like it.
