@brayt0n Actually no. The tires smoke at a certain temp all depending on the tires. It wouldn't make much difference if you were in a higher gear, this car was MAYBE in 2nd mainly because that motor just doesn't have the TQ to keep the tires spinning.

There is a layer of melted rubber that develops between the tire and the road that allows you to spin them as long as you want. Not too much power out of that little civic just a long burn out that's all.
