Oh yeah riflebone, I forgot about Penny Lane... that's on the live set as well as Joni Mitchell's "Turbulent Indigo", and Neil Young's "The Bridge". Not to mention a few songs recorded for Black Eyed Sue but not put out on the album. That's crazy that you were there as well! I think it speaks volumes that a small club show a decade ago lasts still fondly in the minds of people. For anyone who wants these live tracks, please message me privately and I'll give you the link.
I love this album by Kurt Swinghammer. It's called "Black Eyed Sue" and is about a relationship gone south. Very personal and honest. I still remember going to the record release of this album in 2001, and was just one of the best intimate shows I've ever been to. I would have considered going on Ships n Dips just to see Kurt again.
Now that I think about it, the release show was recorded by me, and it included the whole album top to bottom, and also a covers set of songs like Beach Boys "Wouldn't it be nice", Nick Drake "River Man" Sandpipers "Come Saturday Morning", and Burt Bacharach's "Walk On By". I need to find that so I can share with interested parties. It was a quiet club (C'est What in Toronto) and the recording came out quite good as I recall.
I just recently found this video after looking on your channel at Psycho Killer you posted on bnet... and for the life of me, I can't find lyrics to this song anywhere. I would love it if you could help me out. Thanks for posting!
This is a Kurt Swinghammer song. he is a Canadian Songwriter/singer/guitarist. He was on S & D III Cruise --He has a myspace - The name of the song is 'On Bartlett Street' This was the only copy of Ed performing this- a Friend of Ed's asked me to post it - so I did.
Apparently I needed another reason to love this man! Thanks for posting!! :D Somehow I missed this on the cruise. I gotta follow him better next time.

IT would be awesome to have a copy if you find it. Come Saturday Morning and Woalk on By are two of my favorite tunes from the past...

Beautiful! And gee, where does Ed get his cool shirts?
:-)

not sure on the cool shirts. I gave it the old college try --

So... I think Ed should have Kurt Jim and Andy
pop up in the bathroom and add this wonderful song to The Bathroom Sessions!

Would it be wrong to follow him around everywhere on the ship so one didn't miss this sort of thing?
Just fabulous, thanks so much for posting!
