It's definitely Ernie Haase. It most definitely is a Cathedral original track because you can clearly hear George and Glen's very distinctive Hall of Fame voices on it.
What makes me think that it is Ernie on the recording is the way that the word "Champion" is being sung ... In the original version (with Danny from 1987) the Cats sang "Champi-yon of Love" and with the later released version with Ernie and Scott they sang "Chaam-pi-Yon of love".
In this video they are clearly saying it the way that Ernie and Scotts rendition went.
It sounds like DF, but I'm just not for certain. But don' t think for a minute that he can't still knock the top out of that high-C...maybe not as regularly and easily as at one time, but in a relaxed studio setting where he can repeat/punch the part (if needed)? You better believe it!
Yes i know you can do that. I have magix and i do with my recording all the time. But my dad said he went into the recording and added that part. And my dad of all people would know because him and Danny are great friends.
That can't be Danny's vocal on the end from the 80's version because they didn't hold the note that long. At point 3:33 on the video is where the cut off in the recording. So, maybe it was the reunion vocals
Eh, I'm not sure. You are probably right, but it would be very hard for him to get the masters to that song. After all he'd have to go through the whole recording company to get them.
You see, thats what i thought. If you listen to the ending of the Campmeeting version of Champion of love (which i have) the tenor sounds almost the same. So i think they took the vocals from that version, and put them on the track of the original version and thats what Danny used. George probably did if for him actually. But thats just my theory. I'll have to ask him sometime. Or Danny could have gone into the studio and added the tenor part. But it'd probably really hard for him at the time.
that was ernie

I think it is the stack vocals from the recording with When Gerald Wolfe sang it. Thats a safe guess.
