I would say North Americans in general. Americans play very similar hockey to Canadians. Of course it's nowhere near as popular in the USA but still the dedication is there.

@chuwillloose Toews won the Smythe, rightfully so. And Doughty is the more deserving Norris winner. He shutdown Ovechkin against Russia, He shutdown Kane and USA, He shutdown Gaborik and Hossa and Slovakia in the Olympics. He was more dynamic on a team with less overall support, He's better defenseively, and was LOs Angeles leading scorer in the playoffs.

Yea it does, and my character limit wouldn't let me put that last part of the sentence in there, but even so, Doughty basically carried the entire defensive weight of the Kings. Don't get me wrong, I think Keith is amazing, him and Seabrook are one of the most dominant defensive pairs I have ever seen (unfortunately for us Flyers fans haha), but I think Seabrook plays a large role in Keith's dominance. Doughty carries it himself basically.

@chennighausen Well, I'd say that's undermining the d-men like Johnson and Scuderi...and now Mitchell is there so Doughty has support. Keith didn't really play with Seabrook during the Olympics but still proved that he's a dominant d-man.

When Lidstrom retires, Keith and Doughty will take hold of the reign in defence. Let's not talk about Pronger, he can't finish by himself. He needed Niedermayer to win one.

San Jose scores while his teeth are still bouncing on the ice and he comes back same period to ignite the boys in the Indian Head sweaters to take home the sweep. Chicago will be a Hawkey Town for the next decade for sure.
