I have been watching this special since I was 5. I'm in my 40's now. And I lump & tear every time I see it. I was unfortunate to experience a "Blue Christmas" one year, times were tough for my newly single mom raising 5 kids at that time. The DVD was released free with the Sunday newspaper last year. So I ripped it straight out and put it up to send to people I wouldn't be seeing at Christmas (mostly for my girlfriend at the time who is now my fiance). I hope this Christmas to get some more of the DVDs from Rankin/Bass to post some more of the awsome songs and clips.

Yep, it's an American movie by Rankin/Bass. They made a whole bunch of amazing holiday movies that surprisingly have only become available on DVD in recent years. Something to do with lapse of censorship or ownership rights or something
