  • Gdzie kupiłaś tego ptaszka??

  • very cool..

  • I have a hand tame conure and every time I put him on my shoulder he bites my ear or my neck ... He's not being aggressive and he's not off balance he just gets a lil too rough ...how do I make him stop?

  • Are his feathers clipped?

  • very smart usuing a pen very creative idea

  • Lol, when i push her crest down it stays down xD, but thanks. Pepper is a hand tame cockatiel, the breeder said. But thanks i will work on that :)

  • Thanks :) I'm working on that. Sometimes I wonder is there a place where you should not try to pet your teil, an area that would seem agressive?

Also sometimes she just sit n my hand with her crest up, like wachdoin? :) she is sooo cute

  • @Sethybeth well you should not try to ouch their tail and feet or try to touch them from behind ..it will scare them .. they also dont like being touched on the head but only if their not use to hands or if its someone new as for the crest sometimes they see something or hear something so it will be up, dont try to push it down .. it wont work lol umm yeh thats all i guess

  • Thanks :) I'm working on that. Sometimes I wonder is there a place where you should not try to pet your teil, an area that would seem agressive?

  • My tiel wont bite or anything, he'll step up, but he will NOT stay on my hand. Guess what he does? He climbs up onto my shoulder, and will not "step up" off my shoulder, he just stay on my shoulder. What should I do?

  • @Sethybeth aww he likes ur company lol try to do the exercise fast … so he wont get a chance to go up .. trust me they get difficult sometimes

  • when i first got my cockatiel the first thing he did was fly strait onto my shoulder and to this day if i take him off he cries and flies right back on. it is by far his favorite place to be.

  • @zerordieb87 aww thats cute

  • Im doing this with my cockatiel and I dont use a clicker but some millet and he just sits there and eats it its helped so much with getting trust.

  • anyone even maker of this video (izabelas000) have any tricks/tips 4 me email or comment on this plz

  • When I got my bird from the pet store, he already knew how to step up. He likes to climb up to the shoulder, but not fly to it.

  • i love your training videos. i love how you established bond with pearl and pumpkin! i'm gonna have my tiel this Christmas. hope i could train him as well as you do on pumpkin and pearl. =)

by the way, do you have any idea on how to tell a cockatiel's age when you just bought it from a pet store? 'coz i wanna get the younger one so it wouldn't be that hard to establish our bond. tnx! =) hope to hear from you! =)

  • thanks, glad you like them!

usually they are 6 month old when they get to pet stores...at least the ones i seen here...

you can always ask the workers if they know Also young cockatiels have a intense screech rather then a whistle unless someone was spending a lot of time with them already... but most likely not

You can also try and get one from a breeder if you do some research, then you would know more details about your cocaktiel

good luck with you new cockatiel!

  • what happens if my bird is like 4 to 5 or 6 months olds can it be trained like that, or try to train them how to fly.

  • of course you can train them at that age ..the younger the better you can start from 6 -8 weeks i believe

  • like when i try to do the trust exercise, sometimes they kinda run away, by the way whats a good exericise to teach them to get on your finger.

  • try

Clicker training #3 - sitting on my hand

    and

    Clicker training#2 - trust exercise

  • =] sry for bothering you, but i was wondering if Pumpkins wings are cliped ^_^ im getting a bird and wa wondering if i should clip his wings or not =] any help would be greatly apreciated.

  • no they were not ... but it does make it the bird trust you a bit faster ..that is if you take him out and he will have to rely on you to put him back in the cage ..etc

  • ok so what dothe clickers do?

  • Hey it's me again lolz. I have these crackers and I was wondering if feeding a cockatiel crackers is ok. I tried giving him a little and he loved it. Prolly because of all the little seeds in them.

  • aww cute... yeh u can give crackers to him

you can make it a treat and use it in training if he really likes it

just dont give them (coffe, alcohol, avocados, onions, garlic .. there wwas a few more but i cant remember right now)

  • crackers can be bad at most try something like 1 a week

  • i have a cockatiel too i started training him today i am trying to make him bite the stick then click and give him food is that right? Is name is Sid and if i let him out of the cage he flies and i didnt cliped his wings...

  • yeh thats right 1.bite stick 2. click 3. food

if u didint clip his wings and you want to then take him to the vet and they will do it for you

  • did you clip pumpkins wings?

  • no ..never

  • oh but when in got him in the car i was holding him then when i put him in the cage and i try to take him or her out it didnt want to

  • it depends on their mood too ...sometimes they just dont want to

  • Do cockatiels make great pets?

I dont know what to get.

there are 3 cute birds and they are budgies, lovebirds and cockatiels and im not sure which one to get.

    Do cockatiel bites hurt much?

  • i didnt get the lutino cockatiel but i got the same one as ur and i put him or her in the cage and when i tell it to go on my finger it wont

  • dont worry this takes time for them to get use to you and gain trust and after a couple of training sesions he will sit on your finger but it depends on your cockatiel some birds gain trust faster then others

  • hope i find the rite one

  • wow pumpkin gets better in every single video u really no how to train a cockatiel :) well i have to go get my bird at the pet store by wish me luck

  • good luck! hope ur happy with your birdy

    tc and have fun
