@MrsCountryBeast they didnt trick him. she came back through her father, john gilberts life form which tranfered to her body. there was a downside to this whole thing. if elena was really dead, although klaus could trigger his werewolf side anytime being that he transformed into a hybrid after the ritual, he could not have made anymore hybrids cuz he believed that killing the doppleganger would ensure more hyrbids but the witches tricked klaus into believe this. hes smart n found out later
