Weezy!.. just thought id share that with you.... and your question, it would depend how professionally your doing it... obviously you want it sounding as best as you can, some people will do it for you but the artist would never do it unless they're signed to some major label or something

I'm sorry for paulio's answer. Unless you're using the beat as instrumental music like J-Dilla's albums you'll NEVER MASTER a beat,you would mix it a little,but NEVER master. Major mixing SHOULD happen in a pro studio with a pro engineer.

my duo splitgenetics is on major management and doing alot of work with signed artists and no one masters there own beats.. you gotta do it before hand but if your working with vst then alot of them are premastered to a certain extent. but most major artists can make the beats themselves or have producers who do it for the big names themselves. and if you want to jump in the biz dont use the name lil or young or weezy...youll be a joke :/

@paulweezy07 when you sell the beat it must be tracked out one instrument per track, the rapper gets it mixed and mastered which are 2 different things other than making a beat.

if ur familiar with mixing yourself, u can also attempt to premix the beats your self before taking it into the studio to give the mixer a lil less work to do in the studio and save some time so they can send it all to the masterer to be completed... thats how i like to go about wit my beats

Yes, you can copyright beats as an instrumental. Loop it for a couple of minutes and then send it in with a PA Copyright form.
