  • "This family knows what to do." Yeah, die...

  • Black kid in class of white kids in the 50s?

  • @fluffyninjas Only southern states were segregated then.

  • Then all you have to worry about is dying slowly from radiation sickness.

  • Just imagine that wave of destruction zooming towards you, the flash burning you alive as you watch your death barrel towards you, unstoppable in its thirst for murder. OH GOD! OH GOD! NO SIRENS! JUST A BURNING FLASH FROM HELL!

  • No it's not a tornado alarm. The 2 tone "siren" is sometimes called an air raid siren. Different from the storm sirens. Of coarse in this economy, some pathetic communities use the wimpy single tone sirens for all events. Pointless since they don't communicate what is going on.

  • at a-boy tony. god i love this.

  • "That's right kids....ahh duck and cover" gotta love South Park.Did the U.S. not see how people were evaporated by an A-bomb?Brighter than the sun?The worst sunburn?Try not having any skin at all dumbasses.Yeah ask an adult as the radiation eats your face off.

  • lol at the 1 black kid at 1:36

    so much propaganda

  • he's like "get me the fuck outta this room!"

  • lol thats the freaking tornado alarm

  • Did they really think a desk can protect them? I remember my father telling me about Him seeing this video and he was one of the few that knew it doesn't work and it kills nearly all of the people in a city poor kids.

  • Man, is this priceless! Born in 61, I vividly recall drills like this in grade school. Films like this that we were shown scared the crap out of me. Similar drills for tornadoes in the spring didn't send me to sweet dreams either. This film is time capsule material. I wished they had an modern day edited version that mocked this, showing what would actually have happened to these fools who ducked & covered. I love the inevitability off the A-bomb the narrator alludes to repeatedly.

  • South Park did a spoof about staying safe around lava.

  • Haha, they'd all be incinerated on the spot. But I guess if you're about to die, might as well die like a civilized person.

  • even a thin cloth or a newspaper can protect you from a bad burn? man...i guess they dont make cloths like they used to. oh and by the way kiddies...nevermind that intense heat and radiation you will be bombarded with...the fine people of japan are just swell. now if only bert was able to get to hiroshima and nagaskai...

  • funny shit. ironically, this is probably the best of cold war jokes (note, I was born on the other side... the EVIL EASTERN BLOCK!!!! lol)

  • I love these old (supposed-to-be) educational films. I remeber all those duck-and-cover practices, those were so annoying...

    Thanks tons and tons

  • Every single person shown would have died instantly. The fact they were terrified of the Bomb yet hugely underestimated it is kinda wierd.

The fact this was aimed at children is really, really creepy.

  • poor kids, their probablly scared out of their minds, like this is any help...

  • Well, doesn´t it matter how close you are to the impact of the bomb weather you die instantly or not?

  • Heh, imagine the kids in their next storm.

  • @inorcistartist it doesmatter. but it would be better to die instantaneously than to be in the vicinity of the explosion because if not dead instantaneously, the death will be more violent... vomiting out intestines, severe burns, etc.

  • those damn monkeys and there firecrackers!
