and did you see him due it were you there when it happen if not dont comment because its people like you that are people with no eduation back round lol
yeah know this person and for you to tell a person that you dont know to shut up that just how low you are again people are different they may think that people are doing something that they dont think is right but yes i up to date with CDA politics so dont hate your taking for casinos and vista so what differents does it make you get your money back and you as person is a bad example trying to bring down one of your own so you SHUT THE HELL UP
you know, its not the person, its not all the great things he has done for the people economically. Its about the fact that somebody can bring a bad influence into a tribe through embezzlement and thievery. I do admit he has done good things for the tribe. If you don't genuinly know who this guy is, or are not up on CDA politics, then shut the hell up...he has fooled a lot of people into his "cultural front"
So for people that dont know that am a Navajo from the navajo nation what he talks about in his story is what we have going through so i could sit here and understand the problems that we face today is being native american he has many times brought attn. to his people and the type of stuff he did while in office is more then one man can do for his people SO PEOPLE YOU ARE TO BRING ONE OF YOUR OWN DOWN ITS PEOPLE LIKE THAT MAKE IT HARD FOR OUR PEOPLE NATIVE AMERICAN TO GET A HEAD IN LIFE THANKS
I know this person for sometime now he is a person of great teaching there are going to be people out there that are going to try and bring them down because they are not happy with themselves so the have to look at a person that it making something of himself if they put as much effort in to writing comments in to there life it might be different for them please dont hate then again to hate is to love its a form of feeling may god bless you and dont bring down people you dont know "skirtswish"
actually yeah i do...he is one of our council members for the cda tribe...and he is a joke and everybody knows it. He is just a scheming money indian...
They do pay taxes, and the past has EVERYTHING to do with a present. Oh yeah, we have a reservations, small spaces of land that Native Americans were FORCED onto. How about you do a little bit of research before commenting!Another couple of things white people gave Native Americans disease, and alcohol both of which have been detrimental to Native populations!
I think the entire matter of "our land" is what got us into all this hate and trouble in the first place. How about we all be adults and learn to share.Must we perpetually pay for the sins of our forefathers?I hope that the hate, resentment and bloodshed will be gone with our generation because we can make the change for the better.
The spirit of Native Americans to me is the true spirit of America! The love for all men and all Gods creations. This is what makes America so different from all other nations. If the ways of the Native American are lost and or forgotten, then the American spirit will not be far behind!
no-one should ever be stopped from being who they are/ lovely but i felt so sad for the guy near to tears. be true to yourself, your people, your culture but mostly your heart
Our native Americans are a National Treasure. We should all honor their place in our country. We should do what we can to cultivate and appreciate the wonderful color and tradtions that they weave into our culture, arts and dreams.
hey! i was there last night!! i am a quarter Indian, the rest is French and Norwegian. and last night really made me appreciate my Indian heritage. btw what is the music called that they dance too? i loved the singing/chanting that they were doing. it was beautiful. thank you for posting this video!! =]
Like I grew up on the Spokane Indian Reservation in Washington, it is a tradition to keeep your hair long, but we do cut our hair for variuos reasons, one being military, one being an old tradition of showing that you are morning the loss of a loved one. and really if you want short hair cut your hair.
Some people follow various ancient traditions of keeping their hair long, etc. But all of us? Is there some law that requires us to live out your narrow stereotype?
U.N.I.T.Y. is going to Oklahoma this summer of 2007. Natives from all over the nation will be there with their tribe. Come meet new people, share your culture. Their will be entertainment; food and dances. Their will also be workshops for college and health...Last year UNITY went to Buffalo, NY, and it was fun. Research some more about it. See you there!
As a Coeur D' Alene myself, I was proud to see my uncle Cliff and to see Dave speaking about our people and our way of life. I miss being home where I could see them all the time and this video helped me to get a piece of home so far away.
I cant wair for Julyamsh powwow this year! Get me one of them male fancy dancers. heck yes. My dad wants me to be Miss Coeurd' Alene. sounds pretty cool. newhoo. good video.
Be proud..stay strong..pray Tunkasila..always remember your ancestors and appreciate your loved ones. And continue to promote NDN Rights. Wiohiyanpa ta etunwan yo.nitunkasila ahitunwan yankelo.
oh, i meant to add that i loved what he had to say about protecting animal species as well. for how can we be good humans if we don't also take care of and protect our little brothers and sisters (animals) as well as the planet at large? i'm vegan so kind of feel like i have a humble idea what he's talking about.
Animals share our world, we don't own them or are above them. Our goals as human beings is to embrace all living things into the circle of compassion and not to needlessly destroy them without any remorse or feeling of guilt. Great vid and a great guy, thank you.
PLRODARTE...do you shave your head regularly or use "nair'? I assume the latter. The chemicals have seeped into your brain. BTW...please don't stoop to define "assume", for me. Unless you are native or very late immigrant, you must realize that this land was stolen. Please open your mind and accept things that you don't understand. Perhaps in your world you're brilliant, in mine and others; you've made a complete fool of yourself.
how wonderful

I would like to apologize to the Native Americans for what the the americans have done to you. This is just a death count from the wars
was 45,000. The wars was our fault. Our country was founded on this manifest Destiny bullshit and it isn't right. I want to apologize to all of you.
