Only ever seen one good computer game adaptation to film and that still was no where near as good as the game (Silent Hill) Hollywood is so desperate for easy hits it dosn't even try anymore. anything by Jerry Bruckheimer will be cheesy cliche shit so the american audiences will love it and the rest of the world will mock it.

A NOTE WITH REGARDS TO A DIRECT TRANSLATION OF THE GAMES: How well have movies of that sort done in Hollywood. Isn't there a REASON why the Resident Evil movies continue to be golden? It's because they DON'T stick to the conventions created by the games. Yes, the Resident Evil movies aren't scary, but they are thrilling. The makers took a successful horror franchise, messed around with it, and created a successful action franchise. What's wrong with that?

I had a fear that the movie would screw things up... it looks like a mix between the first and third games are mixed up in one movie.. and since when has the prince been a orphan?

What the hourglass? Empress of time? the Dhaka, and all that.. doesn't look faithful to the games at all.

And the story in the games are good enough to made into movie scripts...

@Ph33NIXx Yes some story elements are differen't, but that's a good thing. You would honestly want to pay to see the exact same story you played many times before? And even though this movie has elements from all 3 games, it's obviously more based on the first, so of course the empress and dhaka won't be here. And saying this movie "doesn't look faithly at all" is complete hyperbole. Just because it doesn't have some stuff you want doesn't mean the stuff they do have doesn't matter.

@Ph33NIXx Well you have to consider that it's not simply translating a story from a video game into another medium. 90% of The Sands of Time takes place in the same palace over the course of--at most--a couple days. Movies can't work like that. For something epic like this, you need a JOURNEY.

Hmmmmm .... Jake Gyllenhaal looks the part, it's got a good mix of elements from all the games (the running, jumping, segmented-whip-thing, outfits and teamwork - from the last one) plus its focussing on the best game!

But why has he got a British Accent? That put me off a bit!

I'm so excited for this. I'm glad they didn't base it completely off the game, as it probably would have been very poor. (not saying the story of the game was bad, there's obviously just to much gameplay to make a movie out of it. It would have been boring)

I'm also glad they're not basing the POP: Forgotten Sands off this movie, as that would have been pretty poor to.

Overall, I think they're going to ace it, both disney and ubisoft, with these 2 projects of the same series.
